                    ❛ hai, i will, ❜ he responded optimistically, probably more for hisown sanity than for hers. it was apparent that chika-ra was forced to put up with a lot from the other sec-ond-years – shimizu-san suffered from their chara-des, as well. maybe it was because she knew this that she was telling him to remain safe; but, he him-self really needed to ensure that this next field trip w-ouldn’t cause him to lose his mind as a result of th-eir actions.

                       ❛ ah, shimizu-san, ❜ he tries to catch her attention. of all the team, he se- emed to have the least problem speaking with her, though it didn’t mean there were times when he did- n’t get cold feet & start to feel anxiety creep up into h- is chest. but, luckily, between the two of them, most dialogue seemed to revolve around volleyball or ac- ademic topics.

      Admittingly, the fever had been bugging him for a bit now, and he was grateful for the female’s concern and time. A flash of an apologetic smile, fingers reached for the aspirin that was offered, taking a hold of a water bottle as he sat down, thinking when was the last time he felt this tired.

                    A shiver runs up his spine in response to a cool                     gush of wind that washes over him. With every                     moment that passes, giving up and heading                     inside is starting to look more and more appealing.                      Not just because of the weather but because his                      nerves are getting the better of him. If not for his                     strong resolve, he would’ve surely given in by now.

                    But he’s waiting -- for her -- hands in his pockets to                     keep them warm and eyes fixing on the ground                     where he’s stood outside the gym. He’s practiced                     what he’ll say what feels like a million times but he’s                     sure he’ll still manage to muck it up. And if it looks                     like he’s about to loose his lunch, it’s because he is.

                    But still, he’s waiting -- for her. Just like he always will.
