"Even in the darkest moments," she says.
Surely, she must be aware of how deep the darkness which enshrouded him could get. It was a vast void, eclipsing any and all light. Rendering him cold and lifeless. To think she would willingly tread such a starless path to reach him once more. Illuminating his vicinity with a warm radiance. However briefly revitalizing him whenever she kindly blessed him with her presence.
Dainsleif was not one to believe in higher beings, but if he were to bestow belief in anyone... oh, it'd be her without a doubt. Descending onto his knees, he would, before her. Offer his utmost respect and loyalty to her, in an absurd showing of gratitude. For reviving the heart within his ice-laden chest. Adoration lacing every turn of phrase which would leave his nonbeliever's tongue. Betraying his gods-denying nation with each word. For this belief was his and his alone, just for her to bear witness to.
Sharp azure eyes were fixated upon her as he began a slow approach, steps heavy yet purposeful. Firelight causing her to be enveloped by his shadow, moonlight casting a silvery gleam to his near-platinum locks. Footsteps halted before her. A weighted sigh left him after perhaps a little too long spent drinking in the sight of her, palms rising to cup her face. He was allowed to do this. Allowed to touch her. It was only the two of them here, only the expanse of nature as their audience.
"You say... foolish things so sweetly. And yet I cannot find it within myself to deny any aspect of it." Not meant in contempt. He dare not hold her in cruelty. Somethings were... still too difficult for him to belief, it seemed. He then leaned in even closer, voice toned down to a whisper. "For a man so mired in darkness as myself, are you certain you wish to dedicate yourself to an arduous task as that? I will not always be as stoic as I am presently. There's a dormant storm within me, a corruption, that can be kicked up given enough incentive and... and I'd hate for you to get caught up in it. If you truly do wish to walk alongside me... then I'd have no heart to stop you."
For I want you to remain with me as long as you're willing-
