It was absolutely needed in his opinion Logan wanted the time away after being stuck comatose for a month, and he also wanted the time with Aila. He knew her family stuff must have been stressful enough. A quick trip elsewhere was exactly the best plan. “What do you think? I know we’re only a few hours from home but I figured a few hours was better than no vacation.”

Logan was slowly gaining his strength back. It wasn’t all the curse so much as it was being off his feet for so long. His legs felt wobbly and weak to start, but he wasn’t going to sit there all day. He thought he heard Aila come in so he pushed himself up out of the bed and got to the doorway of their room where he could see her from. “Didn’t scare you too bad did I?” he joked.

“What would you say if I said I had the best surprise to date?” Logan offered as he put some of the groceries in the cabinet that afternoon.

Logan was nervous but it was good nerves. This was a good thing. It was honesty amazing that within just under a year he had gotten to this point. He wasn’t remotely the same person, but that fact didn’t startle him as much as he would have thought it would really. Aila changed him for the better and he was glad for that. Standing at the front he was waiting while everyone got seated and he tried not to fidget.

He had Henrik beside him since under different circumstances if it wasn’t happening so quickly he would have asked him to be his best man anyhow. Having as many friends there as they did was both surprising and a relief. It put a couple of things in better perspective in Logan’s eyes.

As everyone begun to settle now that they were seated he stood still knowing it was about time. He couldn’t shake the smile on his face either.

Logan had honestly debated upon it for a good month or so. Maybe longer but he didn’t think so. Within the last few weeks things had been even clearer so he asked Aila to come over that evening and it was meant to be a surprise. He had cleaned up the place more so than usual, and he had flowers waiting for her. Not that he knew how to do the whole romantic thing, but he had said the door was open so she could let herself in.

“Close your eyes-” Logan wasn’t good at this kind of thing but he thought the date deserved some recognition given both of their prior histories in regards to it all. “And come just about here-” He had a hold of Aila’s arm to guide her, having found a good spot by the falls for a picnic he set up. He wasn’t even sure he did it right, but he tried. Leaving her for a second he grabbed the flowers he got her and then stood a few steps away so the picnic and himself were in view. “Ok. You can open your eyes,” Logan informed her. “Surprise.”
