Anika needed to start the day with more coffee than she had been lately, if she was ever going to drop the habit of wondering around town in shifted forms. Anyway. At present she had taken on the look of the winged fucking wonder - better known as Flynn’s roommate, Gabriel. That had been more accurate during the actual training session; since then she’d gotten rid of the wings and was walking around in just his human body.
Tired and somewhat on edge, she really didn’t want to bother acknowledging the weird looks she was getting. He was getting. Whatever. Apparently, people were more used to seeing the winged wonder with his wings than without. It didn’t even occur to her that ordering coffee was the reason the barista looked at her strangely, until she turned around to find some semi-hispanic woman looking at her like she’d grown a second head. “What?” she snapped, forcing her voice into something approximating that of the roommate, “Is there some law against getting coffee now?”
