She’s intimidating and brooding And she scares people away, because She’s not made of sugar and spice and everything nice. But rather fire and lightening and everything frightening. People see the smoldering flames And the raging winds And they think that she’s strong. They think that she’s powerful. But really, she just tends to burn herself down.

55/365 - In The Woods Somewhere by Hozier {listen}
I raised myself My legs were weak I prayed my mind Be good to me An awful noise Filled the air I heard a scream In the woods somewhere
do you ever get so annoyed at everything that you start to get pissed off at even little things like a spoon clinking against a bowl or sounds of people talking
I think it’s called sensory overload. It’s really common in people with anxiety
it can also be a result of sleep deprivation, stress, or ever dehydration !!
thanks i thought i was just a bitch

not sure why people don’t automatically say “shapeshifting” when asked what they want their superpower to be. you could become anyone you want. even fictional characters. anyone. cosplay would always be spot-on. dysphoria wouldn’t exist. perfection

wow that was a lot of expletives for khai to even try and make sense of what she said in between them, but he tried his best. “so… you agree with trp but not how they do things because you don’t like being kept in one place for too long?” he asked, or more tried to confirm because at this point in time khai wasn’t sure which way anika sat. “i don’t agree with the rising power, but i do understand why you’re angry. in my opinion, it’s safer for everyone if we’re here. us and them. that’s what trp doesn’t seem to see. if they’re willing to hurt the people here to get what they want, surely they’ll be willing to hurt people without powers on the outside? it’s not worth the risks to non-metas, or mutants, or whatever you’d like to call us. there’s people here because they did bad things. you’re here for your criminal record, right? i’m sure there’s people here for actually hurting people too, or worse. it’s safer here. we can’t hurt them here.”
Alright, apparently they were doing this. “I previously agreed with the fucking TRP. Then they attacked people who didn’t have shit to do with this fucking situation - their ‘cause’, freedom for mutants, fucking praise be, whatever - and I concluded that they were fucked up, more fucked up than I’m willing to align myself with.” And wasn’t that a fucking treat? Anika Laine, drawing a line; that line ran right through attacking minors and forced the group into the same ranks she’d pushed some of the more abusive fosters she’d had the misfortune to be acquainted with in the past. If the fucking TRP came back with methods that weren’t traumatise this idiotically naive fucking time traveller, she’d be all over them, but until then? Hell no. She was on her fucking own. “Safer for us to be here? For them that don’t have control, maybe. But this place wasn’t fucking here to help any helpless fucking minors, and it never will be, not the way they actually need from people who are really dangerous. I’m not here for my fucking -- there’s not a person in this place here ‘cause they committed a fucking crime, guy. This isn’t that sort of prison. This is - fuck, those run down parts of cities, where they stick the minorities and the poor ‘cause the entitled fucking WASP’s of the world,” because of course she could remember the acronym for White-Anglo-Saxon-Protestant but not the word ghetto, “didn’t want to look at them. This is that. This is where us freaks get sent to die. I’m only here ‘cause I fucked up and got caught having a power.” She paused, running through everything he’d said, not wanting to leave anything without a response. TRP allegiance, change of heart “And for the record, I never hurt anyone who didn’t deserve it, never endangered anyone who didn’t deserve it, before this fucking place.” Her words dripped with venom but the way she wrapped her arms around herself spoke of her discomfort even as her words ignored the concept entirely. She laughed bitterly. “The government ain’t here to keep us safe, guy. If it was, there’d be two prisons; one for the people like me, the ones who got caught committing crimes, the ones who revel in their damn chaos - and one for the harmless ones. Grimstone ain’t here to keep us safe.” She snorted as she repeated the thought. “I wouldn’t trust it even if they were.”

when the female turned around, khai’s eyes went wide and he practically jumped backwards in his seat. he barely knew what to say as he glanced at anika’s phone. “ … in the middle box the nine goes in the top right.” was all he murmured as khai looked down from her almost violent gaze. “so you think trp is bullshit?”
She jabbed the number into her sudoku, gaze flitting between him and her screen as she debated whether she had the skill to split her focus. She didn’t. “I think I told the fucking guards when I was involved with the fucking Fifteenth bullshit, and I think that if the TRP was fucking legit or gave a shit about the minions they drag into their fucking cause, which I don’t think is bullshit because my skin itches when I stay in one place too fucking long, then I’d be more inclined to not fucking think they’re fucking bullshit.” She glanced down to see her phone screen doing that weird distortion it did whenever she pushed too hard on it; when she dropped the thing, it clattered on the table. “Well? Are you going to do the pro-government spy bullshit? ‘Officer, Anika’s talking about the TRP, clearly she still has some allegiance for them’? Or are you going to throw me the fucking minions spiel about how the TRP isn’t fucking bullshit, which is a total lie, by the way, and you’re fooling no one.”

Theodore sighed, unwilling to look up from his work. “Y–” Yes I’m busy, he’d very nearly snapped, anger uncharacteristic for him. Instead, he took a calming breath before addressing the person again. “No. I have a moment,” he lied. “What do you need?”
Anika paused. She was about two weeks late for her last scheduled ‘check up’, something she was sure fooled nobody. Still, she hadn’t expected the tiny assistant, or whatever he was, to lash out (whether he was physically tiny or not didn’t particularly matter; the point was that the guys presence typically occupied about one sixth of a corner at any given moment, barely noticeable unless he was being sought out directly). “What’s eating your ass?” she asked, ignoring his own question entirely; a few more minutes (or more) of avoidance wouldn’t hurt.
