“Hey, you’re Candy. Right?” The first part had come out as a statement so he added ‘right’ immediately after realizing it to not sound like he actually knew her. “Uh, I mean. I’m Nico. I think we have a mutual friend. Mabel? I also think we met in passing once or twice.” He rubbed the back of his neck as he stood awkwardly. “If you’re not Candy then this is going to be super awkward though.” He lets out a small, nervous laugh. Why was he so nervous? Because she was Mabel’s friend, maybe. “Anyways, uh, nice to properly meet you. I think. I’m sorry.” God, he wanted to kick himself for this entire interaction.
