Nico had just gotten out of his last class for the day. It seemed to have flown by as it was one of his favorites. As an art major there were plenty of classes that involved actually creating instead of just reading boring textbooks. Still, he was glad the school day was over and he had the rest of his afternoon to do as he pleased. He was humming along to a song that was playing in his earbuds when he accidentally bumped into a person who seemed to be in a rush and running by him. Falling to the ground he let out an “oof.” “Watch it!” he says as he gets to his feet. Still, he offers the other a hand to help them out. When Nico realized who it was though he froze. “Oh, uh, hey Bambi. Uh, fancy meeting you here,” he says awkwardly. “Um, are you okay?”

“Oh my god. Where do I even start with Mabel?” Nico gets a dreamy look in his eyes and a goofy smile on his face. “I love Mabel with all of my heart. I don’t think I’ve ever cared about anyone more in my entire existence. I think it’s absolutely insane that the two of us were put together in this town out of anywhere else in the whole entire universe! Like, the cosmos put us together here for a reason. I just...would love nothing more than to spend forever with her. I love when she braids my hair and I might not be the best at it but I think she appreciates it when I paint her nails since it’s hard to paint both yourself. She’s also super talented. She has so many hidden talents that not everyone appreciates, but they should!” He can’t help but laugh a bit. “She’s just so great. And beautiful. God, she’s so fucking gorgeous it’s unfair. I think she’s the prettiest human I have ever laid eyes on.” He sighs happily and leans back in his seat. “I just hope she knows I care about her so much and I would never do anything to hurt her. She’s just perfect to me.”

“Rosetta?” Nico smiled. “I would consider her a friend! She’s so great and kindhearted and I don’t think she could ever hurt even a fly. I really appreciate her. I also think she’s really pretty. I hope someone comes along and really treats her right someday because she definitely deserves it. I would also just love to hang out with her more. Maybe she can show me how to properly take care of a plant so it won’t die on me. I would love that actually.”

Fawn balanced as best as she could along the bench before hopping down next to Nico. “So, hear me out. Have you ever seen that goo that’s pretty watery? Like it looks like some weird liquidy jello? Anyways… what I was thinking is if we can get enough.. I’m sure we could fill up the teacher lounge sinks.. and toilets… maybe even their coffee machine. They’d go bananas without their caffeine! The toy store has to have little things of it for like a dollar or something. Unless you know how to make it? The thick kind is easy, but how do they get it so runny sometimes?” || @onefinned

Nico turned to his friend, a bright smile on his face and a devious look in his eyes. “Are you talking about slime? Because slime sounds like so much fun. We could definitely go to the store and get some or we could make it ourselves. They have those little slime making kits and I think it would be super fun to make it. Call me a child all you want but it’s going to be top tier fun.” He grinned at her. “I think if we add more of whatever liquid they put into it it would be super runny and goopy. If you’re down though I’m down!”

open starter location: mystery shack

Elsa liked the Mystery Shack. It was a weird little place full of knock-offs, but people ate it up as if it were real. It had a weird charm to it and she found herself reading her books outside on the bench a lot. Today she thought she might actually buy something, but had no idea what. She knew that if she didn’t soon that the owner would have a fit and she didn’t want to be banned from somewhere she liked so there she was, browsing novelty item after novelty item but nothing was really sticking out. Her hands danced across a keychain and she laughed a little to herself, not realizing someone was looking at the same thing. “It’s a little odd for a keychain, isn’t it?” she said aloud glancing at the person next to her. “I don’t know if it’s the right thing for me….Have you got any better ideas?”

Nico had been finding himself spending more and more time at the Mystery Shack as of late. Mostly because of Mabel, but also because he was curious about the strange things there. The items were neat, a knock off at most, but were all vastly different at the same time. He was looking at a wall of knick knacks, signs claiming some were haunted and such. He walked past that wall and just began browsing the rest of the store when someone caught his attention. He looked up at her and rose an eyebrow. “It is...odd.” He takes a closer look at it. “it’s interesting though. A good conversation piece when you pull out your keys and someone asks you what it is.” Nico takes another look around but feels a bit overwhelmed with all the items. “There’s a lot here. I wouldn’t even know where to start.”

When Nico restates Dipper’s original words like that, it sounds kinda bad. “Maybe?” he answers, though it comes out as more of a question than a confident statement. “Is it shitty to say yes?” Shaking his head, Dipper knows the answer to that question already and quickly continues on to save his ass. “Yeah, yeah, it does. But - in my defense…. I’m suppose to look out for her, you know? Be a good twin brother and all that. So… this is my reminding you - kiss her at midnight or she’ll be sad.” Mabel likely wouldn’t want Dipper to be going around discussing this with the person she had a complicated almost relationship with, but there was no stopping him now that he was already here.

“Nah, it’s not shitty,” he answers. “You’re doing a fine job looking out for her. I’m sure she appreciates it. You’re a good brother. I’ll be sure to kiss her. God, isn’t it, like, weird to ask your friend to kiss your sister? If I had a sister I would be so uncomfortable.” Despite that though Nico laughs. He was an only child, but if he had any siblings he knew he would be wildly overprotective of them. “What about you though? Are you enjoying yourself? You’re going to get a midnight kiss too, right? Not from me though. I know that must break your heart.”

with a good portion of the night over and a handful of drinks already in dipper, he was feeling far more confident than normal. not that it would be surprise to anyone, considering the boy was well known for becoming a bit of a different person whenever he had alcohol in his system - but whatever. dipper was ready to get the party really started, despite the fact that he felt somewhat trapped in his suit (no way was the tie staying on until the new year - that much should also be a given). and when he spotted his friend and the boy that was potentially also mabel’s date, dipper was quick to beeline towards him. “so,” he starts, draping his arm over nico’s shoulder and leaning in closer than is probably necessary. “you gonna kiss my sister at midnight or do i have to go find someone else to take that spot?” it was a joke, but a small part of dipper really meant the words, knowing that if mabel didn’t get a midnight kiss tonight he was going to have hear her complaining for the next week to come.

Nico knew he was not going to a ball without Mabel. Nor was he going to let Mabel go alone. So the logical solution was to go together, obviously. He felt kind of stuffy being in a suit but it was only for one night. He would survive. He’d been nervous about his friendship with Dipper since he’d started seeing Mabel in a romantic light, but it didn’t seem as if anything had changed between the two. Which was a relief for him. When Dipper approaches him, arm draping around Nico’s shoulder he can’t help but grin. “You only want me to kiss your sister so she doesn’t get her heart broken on New Years. Not that I would ever do that. I want nothing more than to see her happy. And, uh, kiss her at midnight obviously.”

Fawn’s mouth opened with wide eyes ready to call him out for beating the meat, but he snapped her down before she could. “You lined yourself up perfectly on that one. It wouldn’t even be mind in the gutter, just… picking up what was being put down sort of deal. I’m happy to hear that arts going well for you though. And I am happy to be a part of an adventure. I just wish it was a bit warmer.” She grumbled looking around. “There’s always ice skating? Or getting yellow food coloring and dropping “yellow” snow on people.”

Nico rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but laugh. “Oh, shut up!” He nudged her with his elbow in her side. Hard enough for her to feel but soft enough that it wouldn’t hurt. “Back to adventure talks though. I would love nothing more than to go on one right now. Despite he cold I think if we stay bundled up we can still have fun.” His interest piqued at ‘yellow’ snow and he grinned. “Screw ice skating. Let’s go get some food coloring!”

@onefinned location: the beach

moana had been out at the beach all day. she had gone swimming, surfing, and had been generally trying to take it easy for once. there was nothing that calmed her more than surrounding herself in the ocean. She could swim deep and long with the water parting for her when she needed to catch her breath; so it was safe to say she could be a fish if she wanted to be. Of course she also swam to see if she could find any shells to take home and make jewelry or other things out of them. She had gotten a pretty decent collection today and was making her way back to the beach when she spotted Nico. He was a boy from school and Moana thought he was pretty cool since he liked the ocean a lot too. She made her way over to him, moving the strands of hair that were stuck to her face from the water. “Hey!” she said happily, smiling a little bashfully due to the fact that her hair was still all over the place. “What’re you up to? It’s about to get dark.”

Nico loved the beach. He loved the ocean! Something about it just called to him. He felt drawn to it and no matter the time of year he didn’t mind walking down by the shore. It was cold out, but at least there wasn’t snow on the ground yet. He had brought a thick blanket to sit on and, of course, his sketchpad. He enjoyed sunsets on the beach. The stars and the moon. Pretty things that seemed unobtainable. When he heard Moana his head looked up from his sketchpad, which he was now only drawing on by the light of his phone’s flashlight. “I was drawing the sunset on the ocean. But it got dark and I had to improvise. Not my best work.” He smiles and sets the sketchbook down. “I keep forgetting it gets darker earlier now. Um, aren’t you cold?”

“Well hey there stranger.” Drinking a smoothie from her favorite little vegan shop she grinned making her way towards him. “Where the heck have you been? I took a day off studies, and everything else to just become social… ish. So please tell me you have something fun.” || @onefinned

“Well, hello,” Nico says as he turns to smile at the familiar voice that is Fawn. He had a coffee in hand, made with non dairy cream of course. “I’ve been busy, I guess. I had a lot of art projects for school. Believe me when I say my hand and wrist is sore. And before you say anything get your mind out of the gutter.” He smirks. “Really though. Lots of drawing and painting. Along with some side projects I’ve been working on. I am definitely in need of a break as well. I am down for any adventure the day takes us on.”

“Well, I’m right here,” Nico says softly. He takes Mabel’s hand in his own and squeezes. “I’ll always be right here. No matter what. You’ll never lose me. I promise.” He smiles at her and leans closer. “You’re my number one. You’ll always be number one in my book.” He drops her hand but only to pull her into a tight embrace. “You’re the only company I want too.” His arms tighten around her and he leans down and kisses her on the top of the head. “I could stay like this forever. I just want you, and only you. I don’t think I could ever feel the same way about another as I do for you.” He pulls back just a few inches to look down at her. “You’re okay though, right? You know you can talk to me. I’ll be the best company you ever asked for.” There’s a bright smile on his face but his brows are furrowed, showing a bit of concern. “I’m not ever going to leave your side. You’ll always have me. No matter what.” He leans down again but this time to kiss her properly. “Sorry, I keep rambling on. I needed a way to shut myself up.” He laughs softly. “Mind if I kiss you again?”

“You know, I don’t quite think that’s it. Mabel is a free spirit. I don’t want to ever tie her down into a relationship she doesn’t want. Sure, I love her. I really do. I know she cares about me. She’s so special and nothing could ever change the way I feel about her. If she doesn’t want to be labelled as my girlfriend, that’s fine. What we have is special though and not everything needs a label! What, you think because she doesn’t have ‘Nico’s Girl’ tattooed on her forehead she doesn’t want anything to do with me? mabel takes a deep breath as she stands in front of the door, smoothing out her outfit that she absolutely did not change about four or five times before making her way over with weed brownies in hand. this wasn’t anything new, just meeting at his place to watch a movie and then having a high art session, like they’ve done before, but this time, the girl was ready to do it…maybe. possibly….perhaps, she will ask what they are, and say that she wanted them to be…together. actually verbalize it….out loud…where herd her as she said it….she’s bouncing nervously on the balls of her feet, hesitating to knock on the door. “….come on, you can do this! you’ve got this! you’re freaking adorable, dammit! you’re cute as hell, and so is he, and i–” she’s brought out of her ramble by the door opening suddenly, and the other now looking right back at her and mabel’s wide eyed as her cheeks flush pink, mentally facepalming herself as she greets nico. “h-hi! ….i-i was gonna knock on the door….totally, i was, i was just like…sending a text t-to grenda! y-yeah, yeah! and i was just like, saying out loud what i was typing to her, obviously…’cuz i’m like…so wise, and my friends need my help sometimes, so….yeaaaaah….” // @onefinned

Nico didn’t adore anyone the way he adored Mabel. There were so many feelings there for her, some he had already accidentally blurted out what seemed to be ages ago. He was expecting Mabel. They’d made these plans. His dad and Dory were at work and he didn’t have any classes that day. Sure, he may have a little homework to catch up on but he wasn’t too worried. It wasn’t bold to say he had been waiting for her knock on the door. He kept peeking through the small opening in the curtains that hung over the window to see if she’d arrived yet. When he spotted her outside the door he quickly made his way over and opened the door. Mabel seemed to be rambling on about something and then her face flushed pink and Nico couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, sure, whatever. You’re freaking adorable,” he says in a lighthearted tone. “Are you going to come in and share those brownies or keep rambling?”

“nico nico nico!” the girl exclaims once she recognizes the other in front of her just a little ways away, quickly making her way over and jumping on his back, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. “hi.” she chirps, smiling happily, gently pecking his cheek before hopping off and looking up at him with a giddy nervousness that she wasn’t sure she was ever gonna get over when it came to getting to see him now. “happy halloween! you wanna, like…go do somethin’ or whatever?” @onefinned

When Nico heard his name being repeatedly called he immediately recognized the girl’s voice. It was none other than Mabel, of course. Before he could turn his head to greet her she had hopped onto his back and kissed his cheek. That small, yet innocent, little kiss made him blush horribly. When she jumped down he quickly turned to face her, a bright smile and rosy cheeks on his face. “Mabel!” he greeted just as excitedly as she had greeted him. “Happy Halloween to you as well. I would love to, like, go do something. Or whatever.” He grins at her. “I saw some huge candy apples that seemed to be screaming my name. Would you like to get one with me?”
