Exploring the area near the lake hadn’t been Nick’s best idea. In fact, even in his long and varied career of dumb ideas, he might consider it one of his worst. He’s never telling his husband he fell into the lake; he’d never hear the end of it. Not to mention the fact that he’s somehow lost his wallet; with any luck, it fell out before he hit the water.
Just as he’s starting to get his hair back into their trademark spikes, he spots her; another person sitting by the side of the water. How long has she been sitting there? More importantly, did she see him fall into the lake? He wrings out his jacket, placing it over one shoulder as he addresses her.
“Excuse me, you haven’t seen a wallet around here, have you? I, uh... dropped it.”
(If I play it cool, there’s always the chance she didn’t see anything...)
