Pitter-Patters of Happiness || Minerva & Molly

Papers were signed, lessons were planned and Minerva had a ‘free day’ which she absolutely refused to make use of. Puttering around that office with the portrait of a sleeping Dumbledore quietly snoozing would only drive her to distraction. She stood from her large chair and pointedly ignored the portrait as she made her way to the door. Minerva also pointedly ignored a wry comment the Sorting Hat threw her way about Gryffindors and bravery...
Gryffindors. Her students came to mind but they were (shockingly) all managing rather well. Her thoughts drifted to older, ex-students who were adults now, ones she’d watch grow from children and some even now had children of their own. Small, innocent little things who probably knew nothing of the dangers facing their world at present; honestly she envied them slightly for their innocence. Even as a child she’d too quickly thrown off the innocence of childhood by finding any responsibilities to take.
Her mindless wondering took her to the edge of the school ground and for a moment, while no one was present she lent against the rocks and sighed, shoulders dropping for a short moment while she tried to think up another distraction. The moment her quick mind supplied just that her shoulders were straight once more and she stepped beyond the grounds to apparate just outside of a homey-looking residence and regarded it. She brushed down her emerald robes before opening the gate and stepping up to the door; three sharp knocks later a young boy with a mop of red hair opened the door.
“Hello William,” Minerva smiled, “Is your mother home?”
She needn’t have asked since the Weasley matriarch herself was only steps behind her first-born.
