“i’m not moving.” monty could no longer feel the world beneath him, his entire soul in free fall. what he did know was that raven was there, probably telling him to move-- but he couldn’t. he couldn’t take his eyes from ( what was left of ) his best friend, burning the image forever into his memory. an hour ago, he’d kneeled in front of him, promising that things would get better. now, once more kneeling on knees he could no longer feel, monty felt the lie sharp and metallic in the back of his throat. he wanted to scream and tear the world apart, but his grief fell on him like amber, freezing him to this moment, this place. soon, he’d suffocate as it hardened into a reality he didn’t want to be a part of.
