Oh she knew she should have stopped to buy some candles or an extra flashlight. Or, well, to be truthful she knew that she had forgotten something during the hassle of moving in to the new place. It was just that the young woman had no clue that it would be some extra source of light, and that a storm would knock out the power unfortunately soon after moving in. The darkened night outside of the windows offered little in the way of extra light, and while she could use her phone’s flashlight to get around well enough so as not to bump an ankle against a box, it still wasn’t ideal. Even with her sharper vision.
Which left her little choice it seemed. Carefully making her way out of her apartment and into the hall, a small hand proceeded to knock on the door of her neighbor. Eira smiled politely when it opened. “Hello there! I’m sorry to bother you at this hour, but I’ve just moved in next door and,” she gestured to the darkness around them with a small laugh, “I’ve got nothing that I can light my apartment with. Do you have a spare candle that I could borrow, just for the night...?”
