idk if this is the best way to describe it? but the tone of the show feels more organic, a little more lived in. the characters feel like themselves, but maybe more authentic. 'wait so who's missing? bobby and athena or hen? yes.' and the 'i need a vacation' scene that dissolved into laughter and (presumably) sex and 'that should be our motto' and 'honestly, i would've much rather seen buck do that.' these characters got to be scared and worried but also silly and fun throughout the arc. and idk if it's just because they've grown over the seven seasons or the network change or a combo of the two, but i'm loving it.
