[T]he mix that has come up the most on my feed since Twitch’s passing is this one, without question—and it’s the one I reached for immediately, as well.

It's also the one I played last, because it reaches such an insanely heavy peak late in its run that everything else, in a sense, was building toward it. It’s intense from jump—and its titular focus really gives it an edge. It’s one thing to line everything up brilliantly regardless of genre—to also illustrate the broad musical idea of “psychedelic” with the same enormous palette, and also genuinely offer nearly as many types of trippiness as there are songs, is a rare gift. Silvery-metallic machines and stompy live funk, prog and postpunk-verging-on-gamelan and acieeeed, it all builds up to Temptations/Koening Cylinders/Dinosaur/Chambers Brothers climax that stomps like a demon. Honestly, this CD is the reason I never got around to cut-by-cutting How to Kill the DJ—this was out mere months later and rang my chimes so hard it obviated its predecessor, and much of what was around it. Still does.

tell us about the bolt au 👀👀👀👀👀👀

Okay, so this is a quick summary of the Bolt Au. This is one of my more fleshed out concepts to a certain extent, despite the weird inspiration. The au follows as such:

- HPSC realizes that hey, All Might ain't getting any younger, and he will eventually die one day and leave the public scared and in turmoil about the furture of heroes. That's not good. They need a new symbol of peace to at least try and diminish said panic if/when All Might dies.

- A crazy idea is born from the commission's worries, an idea that they can simply manufacture a new symbol of peace themselves. This new symbol could not only improve public morale while All Might is still here and after he's gone, but by making a symbol the HPSC essentially has control and influence over what could possibly be a large public figure, and by extension, the country itself. (And if Hawks becomes the number one hero, too, that's double the control)

- They've already shown great success with Hawks, they can do it again. Hawks already has a new identity and personality, and he's already being trained to be the commission's spy and dirty worker, so it can't be him. They need someone new. All they need is a blank state, somebody who can be a public face without holding too much power. Someone easily molded. Someone they can start fresh with. A newly assigned quirkless boy would do perfectly.

- TLDR, the HPSC comes to inko and all but forces her to sign away custody to her child. She either signs willingly or they "find probable cause" to take izuku away. Either way, the comission now owns her son.

- Izuku, now renamed to Optimo and stripped of his old identity, trains and is isolated from the public for years, with very little information about the outside world. He has no friends out of the comssion, is privately tutored, all that stuff. He looks up to All Might, same as ever, but now there's people telling him that he can be All Might.

- He debuts at the age of 13 years old as the first quirkless hero to ever exist (because inspiration p0rn will always be a thing). He goes on to take down villains twice his size, villains with all kinds of quirks, completely unarmed and always uninjured. He saves every hostage, is always smiling, the civillians just love him.

- The catch? All of these villain attacks, which are conviently in his very small patrol range, are staged. Optimo has no clue, but anyone over the age of ten is very sure that these fights are fake. He's a sanitized baby's first hero, a less violent hero who never swears and never has to worry.

- When Optimo is 15, and during one of his many staged battles, a real villain crashes into the scene. Optimo, thinking that yeah, he can totally handle this because he's the greatest, tries to fight the very real criminal with no quirk. He gets beat up, and loses for the first time ever, and his unconsious body is thrown into a bus or van that drives off with him still inside.

- Cue him waking up in a different prefecture, far away from home, injured, tired, hungry, and with no clue how the real world works.

- From there he manages to meet a friend (All might in his small form, likely, or one of the UA kids), who offer to bring him back to the commission. Time for a road trip across the country while learning what it means to be a real hero.
