owner!yeji and kitten!ryujin : yeji is having a bad day so when she gets home and sees the mess ryujin has made in her room and she just snaps, how would the kitten react? who will be the first to apologize? do you think the kitten would be softer than her usual grumpy self?
in ryujin’s defense, she was just trying to look for her warm fuzzy socks but it ended up creating a big mess she didn’t feel like cleaning. but then yeji gets home, her usual relaxed smile not there when ryujin walks over to annoy her.
“are you serious?” yeji asks with a cold tone once she sees the mess. “i’m gone for the day and you can’t even keep your room clean? do you expect me to clean it for you again?”
“yes.” ryujin grimaces inwardly. she knows she should’ve apologized before the older girl could get even more mad, but the response slipped out before she could realize it.
the owner’s face turns near the color of a tomato as she inhales and exhales loudly. “clean it up, and don’t even dare come out before it’s done. in fact don’t bother me for the rest of the day, i’m sick of your remarks.” and just like that ryujin’s left to stand, her ears flat against her head and tail between her legs as she watches yeji slam the door to her office.
ryujin would be lying if she said the words didn’t hurt a little, so maybe a couple tears drop. yeji’s never actually snapped like that, so it scares her. she slowly starts cleaning up but her brain keeps bugging her, telling her to go apologize. in the end her pride wins though and decides to stay and not risk angering the owner even more.
once she’s done cleaning she quietly sneaks out of her room and to the living room, grabbing a blanket as she starts watching the tv. only to hear the office door opening and footsteps coming near her minutes later, and she panics.
”i cleaned it!” she yelps. but yeji shakes her head and frowns, sitting next to the kitten.
”it doesn’t matter so much. i’m sorry i yelled at you, and sorry about the others things too...” she trails off, coughing awkwardly when suddenly ryujin scoots closer and tucks her head under yeji’s chin. it’s quiet before low purrs fill the room and a soft, ”i’m sorry too,” sounds from the kitten.
as they move to lay down on the couch and yeji pets ryujin, they talk about how they should handle stress together in the future so there will be as few fights and bad things said as possible. neither of them like being sad or worse, making the other one sad.
