Corona returned his bow--if not a bit muted by comparison, but she respected a ringmaster’s duty of being the most showy in the room.
“Hello hello!,” they chimed. “Yeah, I thought so. Sorry to say that I left my big hat back in the trailer,” Corona gestured back to him, then to herself, “Else we could’ve had a moment here.”
“Nothing much, I guess I wanted to take a looksie. I’m a performer too. I try to go out when I know there’s a show coming my way, to stay...exposed? Yeah. You get the idea. Can’t stay under my own tent too long or I get a little stale. Call me booger because I’m nosy-nosy! Or call me Corona, I’ll never tell you which is my real name. How long have you been running this show?”
“The resident knife-thrower in the troupe doesn’t want to teach me because she’s ‘afraid I’ll hurt someone.’”
“Silly, I’ll hurt someone any day of the week anyway~!”

They huddled up outside the circus tent with their legs tucked up and their face partially hidden in their knees. Behind them the lights and music continued on inside the big top. Corona wanted no part of it. The little jester sat cast all in darkness with their back to the colorful glow inside, save for where chance light glinted off their bells or the sheen of their mask.
Their gloves smeared away tears spilling over the eyes of their mask. Corona glanced up with a faint jingle when they thought they saw someone approach--they prepared to recoil at one of their circus mates, but spotted only a stranger instead.
"What do you want?"
Corona doesn’t seem to notice the other person as they skitter over and curl up, only to fall asleep moments later...making the faintest little cooes and chirps.
The figurine collector Connie Lect blushes a bit, before replying. "Sorry Corona. I also have a few of those figurines. So what's your favourite part of the show?"
"Whew! Must have been hard in this sector, huh?"
"My favorite is Princess Paradise's arc, oh my god, and I'd kill to have a figurine of her and the Iridescent Dragon. They just released one and the holographic effect on the wings is in-sane."
“Do you know how much free ice cream I’ve gotten by pretending I was a kid? This shit kinda rules.”
“And if you liked tonight’s show, tell your friends! We’ll be here the rest of the week! Raid the popcorn cart at your own risk, though, because I call dibs.”
