While Jax had certainly panicked about Adeline’s health when he saw her in the middle of Charles’ attack, he had never truly worried that she was gone for good. He knew her too well. Adeline was a fighter, and even a Jewel of Destiny would have a hard time taking her out.
As sensitive as he wanted to be about the entire situation, Jax had a job to do. He’d learned from what happened to Athena, and considering Adeline’s experience had been even more intense, he didn’t want to waste it.
