Kanzaburo had delivered a message that there was another slayer in the area, on the hunt for a powerful demon in the woods near the town Giyu had taken respite in during his patrol. As old as his crow was, it took time for him to reach Giyu and the note was already a day old - if there truly was another slayer, Giyu was already behind in joining them, so he had to hurry to make it to the woods.

Even running, it had taken an hour to reach the treeline and Kanzaburo lead Giyu around in circles for a bit before they reached a clearing that seemed to have been used as a camp ground the previous night. No one seemed to be there at the moment, though.

"Are you sure we're in the right area?" Giyu asked, looking up to the branch where his crow settled. "This could just be a local wood cutter's camp."

He did get the sense that someone was near, but couldn't pinpoint where they were.

Genya Shinazugawa had been reported missing three days after he failed to return.

In the corps, missing was akin to being presumed dead and it had been over a week since the marksman had first been noted to have not returned from the mission he'd been sent on. There'd been no sightings, no word by crow, nothing to confirm if he was alive or dead. No doubt, the people Genya cared the most about had gotten word of his disappearance and he could only guess they assumed the worst.

Which was why he was currently sneaking through the darkness of the night to the Tokito mansion. He knew which window was Yuichiro's, of course, and it was easy enough to open from the outside, even as quietly and slowly as he did, hoping not to wake his boyfriend if Yuichiro was asleep.

He really didn't look forward to facing Yuichiro after being gone. Especially because of the reason he'd disappeared in the first place. He should've been more careful, should've sent a message, done anything to let his boyfriend know he was alive.

I couldn't face him. Not like this.

Genya climbed through the window and landed softly on his feet as he slid down into the room. Black and gold eyes looked around before he moved towards the futon.

       “ child ” vampires were nothing new to nandor - he’d even seen that unfortunate vampire baby. this one still seemed...young though, in a way nandor wasn’t accustomed to - like an actual child despite ( he assumed ) immortality. then again, maybe he was just used to the company of his roommates and familiar to ever really notice otherwise.

      “ you drink from a bag? ” nandor had preyed on humans for so long that it seemed unnatural - or only reserved for special occasions and fancy gatherings to drink from a container instead. “ i still think i prefer the ‘old-fashioned’ way. ”

He didn’t want to ...  GOD HE DIDN’T WANT TO. But, he really had no place to put the tree he rescued from being burnt to death by one of those foolish dragons. It was bigger than him with leaves that looked as if they were painted with fire, and strong too. He begrudgingly entered the Peace Keepers domain with the tree hoisted over his shoulder. He decided not to wear the cloak, as he was in one of his moods to not /care/ whether or not the burned scars on his face would affect the others. And, for some, it did. The dragon kids took a single look and scampered off to a hiding place. He rolled his eyes.  “...Hey! I brought you scaly fucks a damn tree! It’d be nice if someone were actually here so they could take it!”

Kuvira grew nervous over waiting for the train from Republic City to arrive. The sprit vines intertwining Zaofu was apparently normal all over the world after Harmonic Convergence, but Kuvira couldn’t help but be irritated by how they’ve interrupted so many ways of life in her city. General Iroh II and Lieutenant General Hiei were to be coming at noon.

Finally. Kuvira stands tall with Aiwei on the platform as a train turns up into the station. She watches as the iron train rolls to a halt, then as both officers step off with the experienced posture of firebenders. “Hello, General Iroh and Lieutentant Hiei. I am Kuvira, the head of security here in Zaofu.”
