The Mistral branch of the Lost Children’s Orphanage had just gotten in a pair of children brought to them who had been reported as homeless and in poor condition, with one requiring a doctor who was on their way, but there was a commotion still, as the elderly Petra Mint, co-founder of the Lost Children homes, soon heard as she checked on the other kids.

With her walking stick, she’d make her way to the room the two had been put in for now, as the staff, one of whom being Petra’s brother-in-law, Michael, who was trying to get the boy to calm down, but it was no use.

“Michael? What’s wrong?” She asked as she approached, taking her time with her stick helping her walk.

“Well, it’s the boy, his name is Lie Ren from what the paper works says, he keeps saying he wants to go, but we need the doctor to check him and the girl, Nora, too.” Michael looked worried, but he knew Petra would try.

“I’ll speak to him, you go rest Michael.” She told him as she entered the room. “Hello there, I hear you’re unhappy.”

She still couldn't walk. Laying a low profile in Patch was something Pyrrha had never expected she would do after everything had happened. Then again, Pyrrha didn't expect to have survived her fight against Cinder. If Ruby had been just a second slower...

If only she'd gotten the maiden powers. Had been quicker to accept Ozpin's offer. None of this would have ever happened, she thought, blaming herself for the destruction of her school, the death of it's headmaster. It had been all because she had failed. And now, she finally received word that the world believed her dead.

Pyrrha didn't know what to do; she couldn't even walk right now, Cinder's glass arrow shattering her ankle in a way that it was unclear if it would ever be the same. She didn't know if she would ever fight again, not sure if she would even be able to or if she still wanted to.

She didn't want to fail again.

The spare room they'd given her was nice; the autumn rain was something she always loved but even that couldn't distract her long enough from her sorrows. She wanted to talk to her friends, but she didn't know where to start, or what to even tell them.

“If you’re hungry we have food, and if you’d like to sit we have chairs.” Whitley wasn’t being kind (he wanted that noted) but this was all he could think to start conversation. This one was a bit too quiet for him to dislike (as of yet, that is). “You don’t have to stand there uncomfortably.” At least, to Whitley he appeared uncomfortable.
