Dawn walked up to the young man somewhat cautiously as she held her stuffed dog close to her. “You seem nice.” At least she hoped so. “Will you help me find my family? I don’t know where they are.”

Dawn made her way down the hall that she was told led to his office. It was an uncomfortably quiet and lonely walk. She knocked on the door briefly before opening it. “Hello?” Her voice was quiet and timid, nervous as she stepped into the room. Not sure if she’d be interrupting anything, if he’d even be here, or if he’d recognize her. “I’m looking for my dad. I was told he’d be here.”

@invernc cause it’s Winter’s birthday
“We heard it was your birthday!” Dawn, the youngest of the sisters, beamed excitedly as she stepped up to the serious looking military officer. Her hands held behind her back as her sisters approached at a much more acceptable pace. “So we thought we’d get you something! Though... we didn’t have time to wrap anything... Still!” Bringing her hands in front of her, she revealed a small pot full of white and blue violas of different shades.
“We weren’t terribly sure what you’d like,” Kyra, the second youngest said as she pulled out a book. It was a new romance novel that she had heard was becoming quite popular.
“So we each got you something different.” Maple, the next sister revealed a medium sized candle that would smell like a perfect fall day when lit.
“You don’t have to accept if you don’t like them,” Eira, the eldest sister assured her. She opened up her hand palm up, and presented her with a simple chain necklace with a piece of aqua aura quartz on the end.

“You alright?” Dawn asked the girl as she extended her hand to help her up. Washing up on a random shore definitely wasn’t part of the plan, but when had anything ever gone according to plan?
Would Dawn like some comfy slip-ons, or is she just too used to not wearing shoes by this point?
“I wouldn’t say no to some slip-ons. I just typically don’t bother with shoes unless I’m going somewhere dangerous or cold. Don’t want my feet getting cut up or dealing with frostbite, but I’m not going to take the time to worry about shoes if I don’t have to.”
@aureumdraconeus gets Dawn things: Winter
“You’re awfully serious for someone so young,” she noted. Even though everyone assumed she was young herself, she had actually lived thousands of years. Had hundreds of lifetimes. “Everyone here is so serious. Why is that? Did everyone lose their ability to smile and laugh in some freak group accident?”
@grcwingstrcng continued from here
Dawn stared at him for a moment. Mind filtering through different replies before finally settling on one. “You know, maybe if you weren’t rude, and didn’t try so hard to push people away, you wouldn’t feel the need to drink yourself into an early grave. You’d be surprised what being an actually decent person can do for you.”
