oh yes, jamie was fond of opera too, even if his own dramatic plays trumped it in his interests. &&. as a fan of both, jamie was very familiar with the modern writer who had faced a disastrous end to his career. it was an honor, really, for him to meet such an iconic figure, even if no one else saw it that way.
