“Despite light and darkness needing one another to exist, do not fool yourself into believing you are not at fault for your actions.” arms cross over his chest as fists ball into small fists hidden behind his arms, “There is a clear difference in darkness and evil, one you can clearly not see.”
Eyes narrow yet keep trained on him at all times, “Surely you are aware you will not be leaving here free.”
Khada Jhin thinks on the grit in Shen’s tone-- he finds himself laughing.
“I’m well aware of the stipulation,” he said, one hand resting on a gilded cheek and the other halfway disappearing into his obi, fingers only lightly bracing on the beginning of a scabbard. “You never change, Shen.”
“But you of all people should know better by now than to call me evil.”
They stand apart, corner to corner. Jhin knows Shen is too far to reach him in a single leap yet he spares Shen nothing as to stretch his legs such that he is just far enough. He considers another step but restrains himself; there is more to say and he would simply hate to be interrupted by a wry sword to the gut.
“Calling me evil is so tired I’m afraid the concept is dying of old age faster than I am.” His sigh, steeped in melodrama. “Isn’t there something else you could use to describe me? Anything at all?”
The laughing starts again. “I know it’s too much trouble to ask.”
