There was a clear sense of urgency in the smaller alien’s countenance and body language as they hurried up to him, webbed feet skittering slightly for purchase on the smooth floor. They held something cupped carefully in their hands, which they showed him as they halted in front of him. Nestled in their palms was a small reptile of some kind, pale lavender in color with black and white stripes running along the length of its body from shoulder to tailtip. One of its limbs was clearly very deformed - twisted, shrunken, likely a birth defect.
“He was being sold as a pet at a marketplace on the last planet we visited,” Krie explained. “They told me no one wanted him, and they were planning on just...you know...”
They bit their lip. “I had to save him. I thought I could, but...his leg - he can’t get around properly, and he’s starting to show evidence of injury to his spine because of it. I know it’s...probably not a very high priority, but, well...I know you specialize in prosthesis, so...” Dark eyes gazed up at the Blade, their expression plaintive. “I was hoping you might be able to help him, if you were willing.”
