SEND ME YOUR URL FOR A SIX SONG PLAYLIST BASED ON OUR MUSES RELATIONSHIP.
((you can listen to the playlist here. and now for the breakdown of my bad choices:
so the mix goes in chronological order, starting with a song for them as young children and then going on as they age.
1. Mama Who Bore Me (Reprise) from Spring Awakening because let’s be real the way they communicate with each other is founded in the way their mother treated them.2. I Know a Girl from Chicago. this is both of them really. obviously Caddy knows that Jason is the favorite child and can do no wrong by their mother, but Jason also has his own kind of resentment for everything that Caddy gets away with.3. Soigner ton cœur by Amylie. sorry none of these songs mesh, bruh. this one is obviously the odd man out being in French, but the reason it’s here is because it’s about knowing someone who seems to always by angry, sad, and bitter, and wanting to make protect them or give them happiness. in their early childhood, i believe wholeheartedly that Caddy felt that way about Jason.4. Mean by Taylor Swift. honestly tho Jason stop being so damn mean what do you even know???5. What the Hell by Avril Lavigne. pretty self explanatory. 6. Gives You Hell by The All-American Rejects. also self explanatory.7. If I Had a Heart by Fever Ray. finally reaching a stage where they recognize that they can’t make amends and that their relationship is lacking in that vital sibling love. instead they are bitter and angry and hateful and for Jason in particular it seems to consume him.8. These Streets by Bastille. Caddy leaves and wants nothing to do with the family, which is obviously a prominent theme in this song, but it also applies to the desperate, angry way that Jason would like to keep Caddy out of Quentin II’s life and more importantly shake her influence from his own life.9. A New Life from Jekyll & Hyde. Jason wishes he could escape the crushing weight of being a Compson. Caddy has.10. Bad Blood by Bastille. this song and the one that follows were selected for our post-novel verse. this one is from Caddy’s point of view.11. Little Lion Man by Mumford & Sons. and this one is from Jason’s.
