Kikyou had certainly not anticipated the other's course of actions. Her eyes had widened slightly when he leapt into the water, only to soften quickly when she realized why. A soft and gentle smile touched her lips.
While it would appear silly to others, the context truly did make her heart ache. For beneath all the bravado and words, was just a young boy who wanted nothing more than to fit in with others. To be cherished, appreciated and not met with hatred.
Reaching out, a hand gently touched his cheek.
"You already shine, Inuyasha. Just like the shell, it is others who need to perceive the value and take the time to wash off the mud. The mud and the dirt does not change the value of the shell. The shell was always an amazing shell..just like you were always amazing." In other words, people needed to put aside their biases and preconceived notions to truly see the man before her.
"Do you understand what I am saying ? If people are to see the true you, they need to take a chance. They need to cast aside their judgement and then..they will realize just what they have been missing."
