He didn't know why his heart skipped a beats when he heard her say that. He didn't know if he was feeling scared or excited. Or both at the same time. Biting his lower lip, he let out a soft sigh when she touched the collar. She stared at her with a worried look. He seemed lost. Confused. What could she have wanted to ask?

“F-Fun?” he asked. Swallowing anxiously. What kind of fun? “Maybe.” he managed to say. He didn't even know what else to say. He didn't know the reason he was that anxious. He had done quite a few strange things already. He didn't know what to expect.

Gentle hands reach out, arms wrapping around his waist as forehead rests upon his spine. Softly, tenderly, she speaks -- "'m sorry I've been gone for so long, Sho," lips murmur and arms tighten around him. "it wasn't because of you -- it was me. a lot has happened 'n I didn't want to drag you into it all. I've missed you so much."

She hadn't been on his sight before and her hold was sudden. Tensing at first, listening to her voice helped him let his guard down after a while. She was back. With her arms wrapped around him, a small relieved sigh left his lips. He was glad she was alright, no matter what she had to go through in the meantime. The fact she was there was supposed to be a win. His arms were placed to where her own were. He understood. He understood what was like to need time and space. There was no reason for guilt or apologies.

“I missed you too.” he softly said. He really had. The nights he had spent staring on the ceiling, wondering about her wellbeing. It wasn't as if things had ever been easy for them but he had wished to be there if she wanted him to be. “You wouldn't drag me anywhere.” he reassured. He had said he'd be there for her and he meant it. It was natural to feel that way. He had been feeling that way himself at times. “Do you want to tell me what happened? If not, we can simply have something to eat and lay in bed.” he said. Whatever she wished. He wasn't going to put any more pressure on her. “Just make sure to tell me when something is really wrong and you feel hopeless. You know I'll be there.”

He turned around then to look at her. One of his hands was now placed to her cheek. A small kiss was placed to her forehead as to give her a feeling of softness and tenderness. Show her affection. Caressing her cheek with his thump, his other hand was placed on her waist to keep her close to his body. To feel as if she had nothing to fear. She could tell him everything and nothing. She could ask him everything or keep herself away as long as she wished. Only if she could heal easily that way. Only if it was for her own good.

They were laying together on their bed and as he held her close to him, to hear such words slip her mouth broke his heart. He knew she had been in a lot of pain. He knew she was suffering but he believed in her. He knew she was strong and as long as she wasn't talking about it, that meant that she was still holding on. Hearing her break like that was the most hurtful thing in the world. She had enough. That's what he understood.

Pulling her a little closer to him, he took a deep breath, closing his eyes. “I know” he whispered. “I know the way you are feeling all this long”. The fact he didn't talk, didn't mean he wasn't aware. He was just giving her time to deal with it herself while offering his own support if it was needed. “We'll deal with this. We are going to make it. I believe in you” he hummed. How could he say comforting words to her when himself was starting to lose hope at the sight of her losing her colors? What would he do if he lost her? He couldn't do anything to help her. No matter how much he tried, how many people he asked and how much he searched, he couldn't find a solution.

They had his father as a target but they well succeeded on catching him. One of them had a strong Quirk but Todoroki couldn't define who of them was or the exact way it worked. Their Quirk wasn't erasing like Aizawa's. Their Quirk was about stopping his thinking. Emptying completely his mind. Different from Shinso's brainwashing since they couldn't force him to do anything but it was enough for him to be unable to use his flames or his ice. He didn't recall how many days he had been tied and how many times they called his father while using him for a way for him to submit to their needs. When his father refused they'd cause him another burn. They'd slice him once more. He could still feel pain even if he couldn't process what was going on and talk or act. Those days were horrible and the only moments of peace were those that he passed out.

Waking up at some point, he could hear sirens and for first time in so many days, he could think clearly. His whole body hurt as hell. He could feel weak and unable to do anything. It was like he had just woken up from a nightmare. Hearing her voice along with his father's was something calming. They had taken him during his internship along with Josie at his father's agency so hearing that both of them were alright was a calming thought. He was saved.

Opening his eyes wide, he helped her inside. What had happened to her? “Hey, don't worry. You are safe here” he reassured. It wasn't as bad as it looked? He didn't even know how far injured she was. Moving her to the couch, he tried to check every single one of her wounds.

“You better start explaining what happened” he sighed. Who could hurt her? Who would have the guts to lay a hand on her? He couldn't imagine. Rushing to the bathroom for only a moment, he returned with some alcohol and bandages, hoping for those to help with her healing process. “Tell me if it hurts too much”, he said, starting to clean the bigger injuries.
