random headcanon about this here cowboy:

most definitely keeps a small weapon cache with various revolvers and repeaters (.357, .44, .45/70.). Most of these are pilfered from the bodies of those that dared to attack him out in the Wasteland, and in his current residence, he chooses to keep a tight locked weapon’s vault.

//unrelated to anything but my take on the usual archanea divine dragon designs is that they have the same sort of deal as bears where while they can walk on two legs, they don’t often if they don’t need to. they stand up in battle because that’s two hands of sharp claws right there, plus extra reach with their breath and the added intimidation factor of looking downright huge

doesn’t mean they run like bears though, they’re not really meant to go fast outside of flying

//my last hc before I roll out for the night is that curran is a city boy and, while his job can take him into the wilderness sometimes, he’s a lot more accustomed to being in towns and such where all the people are that he’s supposed to protect and/or investigate

so while he’ll survive going off the beaten path, he isn’t nearly as prepared for it

on a related note, he knows almost nothing about sylvans and their culture. he knows they exist and they’re not typically part of the church lmao and that’s about it

//basic character development hcs that I am figuring out as I go:

- curran was raised in the church, idk yet what his family situation is but he definitely doesn’t have any of them left now. in his opinion it makes him more capable to be an inquisitor -- he doesn’t have any ties that can be exploited by his enemies

- based on his one line to heinwald about his hands being stained with blood: curran doesn’t take his job lightly, especially the part about having to hurt people. he’s well aware that ilia is all about kindness and that what he does is not kindness to those he’s sent to investigate. though he knows there’s a reason his job exists, he considers it below that of priests and clerics in morality

//hcs while I’m writing up my pages

- merric? bi. he has feelings for both marth and elice but he doesn’t personally perceive the ones for marth as romantic because of archanea being very, as the kids call it, heteronormative

- he’s a little closer to marth just by the coincidence of them being the same age and both raised as boys in a country that (for most appearances) can be strict about gender roles. he still considers both marth and elice his very close friends though, even despite spending years away from them in khadein

- he definitely wrote them letters. lots of em

- he keeps the good luck charm elice gave him on a leather strap of a necklace under his robes. it’s likely just a metal charm of some kind that has some reference to anri, but I’m holding off there bc I don’t remember if the manga ever shows it

- I’m not making this merric marry elice because I don’t want to deal with canon pairings rn but the ship is fine if a bit lacking in compelling canon content
