Why did he have to get involved in this type of game? Couldn't people mind their own business? Either way, someone was getting hurt- Whether emotionally or physically. There's a sigh of frustration, a hand running through his hair while his free hand moves to rest on his hip. "Do I really have to answer this?.. It's a childish game, and it's stupid. But if I have to answer..."

Thinking it over, it was a good debate, really. Well, he already had the answers in mind, but it was moreso making sure he was going to stand by them since one of them was more likely to risk getting him in trouble physically than the others. Although most would think he was gross or something of the sort for his upcoming answer, but anyone who knew him wouldn't be shocked, likely. "Fuck Akane.. Marry Inupi.. Kill Mikey."

Would he marry Inupi? What kind of question was that? Even if he was sober, he didn't have to think about what his answer would be. "Of course," Raising his glass to take another drink before returning it to the coaster he had previously kept it on, he gave a huff in disbelief. "Anyone with half a brain knows that." He couldn't think of one person who knew the two of them that didn't realize the bond the two of them had. "What? Hoping I was drunk enough to say no or something stupid like that? I didn't go buy a ri-" He quickly stopped, realizing the near slip (Okay, practically a slip-up but he wouldn't admit it.) before quickly scanning to try to make sure Inupi wasn't within distance to hear it by surprise.

Inupi clears his throat to catch Koko's attention. Then, in the most deadpan tone possible and with an expression to match, he begins singing happy birthday.

Koko had been caught up in shuffling through the papers on his work desk at home, needing a break from the Bonten headquarters when Ran and Sanzu kept going at it. This usually resulted in him occasionally bringing the paperwork home, which didn't help with the stress except for when Inui managed to get him out of it to take a break.

When he looks up, he figures it wasn't super important but Inui always got his attention anytime Koko could put it on him. Except, this was the first time he wished he hadn't. The expression matching the bored, almost lifeless tone, the entire song sent a chill down Koko's spine. Not in a good way. In fact, Koko wouldn't say it but he couldn't wait for the song to be over this time.

Getting up, he walked over to him and pressed a gentle kiss to the other's lips before speaking. "Thank you, and thank you for remembering."

There is no doubt he won't be pissing off a specific someone. Not intentionally and hopefully never.

Young love is so sweet. Akane loves Valentine's, but she loves walking home from school during Valentine's even more; the sight of classmates skirting around the strict no-affection class rules to give each other hugs after receiving thoughtful gifts earlier that day gives a little jump to her steps and she hums happily under her breath.

As she watches her little brother bite into a heart-shaped lollipop, she turns to his best friend and teasingly asks: "What about you, Hajime-kun? Did a cute girl give you anything this year? I'm sure a sweet boy like you must be very popular."

Koko turned and looked at the eldest of the three, giving a 'hmph' before looking away again as they walked home. "I don't need any of that stuff. It's pointless." Okay, maybe he didn't really think that but what else was he going to say? He wasn't actually really all that popular with the girls, especially since majority seemed to go for Seishu instead. Not that he minded, since he had ever really only thought of Akane, but he wasn't going to say that outloud at this point.

"Besides, I don't have time for all that mushy-gushy type stuff." Again, that was a lie, but that was only his business of knowing the true answer. It didn't matter what other people thought, since they could think whatever they wanted, Koko not really having much of a care to correct it.

Thinking about it now, Koko already has the money to buy himself anything he'd want for Valentine's, and whatever mediocre gift Takemichi got for him might go completely unnoticed... but he leaves him a scented candle anyway, with a note that says: "Happy Valentine's, Koko-kun!" with a (rather ugly) little doodle of a grinning Takemichi making a v-shape with his fingers.

Koko picked up the candle, staring as his eyes look over the shape and description along with the overall appearance. "Such an ugly gift." While he wasn't much a fan of candles, he guessed he appreciated the sentiment of someone caring enough to get him something at least. Even if it was more than a bit odd. Looking over at the note closeby, his free hand picked it up and read over the words. Of course, it was that annoying idiot. He should've guessed.

But again, if he knew anything about Takemichi, it was that he at least had good intentions behind the things he did. Koko carefully set the candle and note back down, making a mental note to at least try to be kind enough to give him some thanks. And hopefully, if he was lucky, he wouldn't actually have to use the candle and could get away with lying about using it if Takemichi ever asked.
