— Best Regards From Hell

Getting revenge may be one’s way to achieving equanimity, for the rich with power it can be more of a wicked entertainment — Jiyong is seriously convinced he falls into that category, though what he chooses over the sound of revenge is returning the favour. A classy attire for what’s rotten in its marrow. Like the silent storm he is for most of the time, he doesn’t rush while planning and racking his brains over what would hit the prey’s weakest spot, what could wound their pride to the point they wouldn’t think of interfering with him or anybody dear to him ever again. In contradistinction to the popular belief saying the boy’s head is constantly in the clouds, he’s a heedful observant, a vigilant hawk who won’t let a single opportunity slip between his slender fingers.
This spoiled brat has little care for his family, just like they treat him with nearly zero deference but if somebody steps out of their lane with the motive of dragging a Kwon’s name through the mud, he will erase mercy out of his dictionary. But mostly it’s for fun because he finds it wildly amusing to put people in their place, especially when on the social ladder they’re below him. Like dearest Seo Yeji. This poor soul that can take out all her immeasurable anguish bordering on agony only on Jiyong who happens to be within her fragile hand’s reach, not his oh-so horrible father who’s the story’s culprit.
Instead of seeking peace and compromise with the girl, a happy medium that would be an effective remedy for their venomous animosity, he decided to break his rules he didn’t even know he had to show her what she might’ve failed to see through the blinding veil of hatred — you don’t get into a conflict with the Kwons. Jiyong always tries to stray away from issues that aren’t his, he resents digging deep until he discovers filth that may help him pull the person down and make them sink real low and hit the rock bottom with a sonorous clunk. But this time he couldn’t seem to stop himself upon witnessing the dumbfounding view which was nobody else but Yeji accepting money from a much older man, who he daringly assumed was some sponsor she must’ve been mingling with for such materialistic benefit. Smile for the camera.
Keeping the photo to himself wouldn’t have been half as thrilling if he hadn’t anonymously shared the news with the almost legendary figure of Cheongnam, more recognized under the goosebumps-inducing pseudonym Gossip Girl. From that nearly revolutionary moment all he could think of was how he doesn’t stop to surprise himself and when his victim was granted a new alias and attention she probably didn’t ask for. Jiyong was partly disgusted with himself, but the sinister grin grew when the picture’s author wasn’t a mystery anymore. Maybe now he didn’t manage to live up to his own moniker of Mr. Enigma, yet it didn’t matter.
Lunch break. Cafeteria. With a few friends accompanying him and laughing along with him, he walks in like the place belongs to him. And for the following minutes it will. Suddenly his mind hits the pause button and his alert glare scans the surroundings and there she is. Nodding once, he wordlessly notifies his peers to sit back, relax and enjoy the show from afar. Fixing his tie and smoothing his jacket, he calmly struts towards Yeji and lightly tugs her sleeve when he’s passing by. “Hey, Lolita,” leaning in as he bares his teeth maliciously, Jiyong greets her loud enough for the other students to hear. “You were quick to find yourself another daddy.” Pocketing his hands in that nonchalant manner, he blatantly sneers whilst his back is facing her.
