Did you, guys, see this masterpiece from Susan's story?!?!
🗣️🎤: Witchlands nation, how we feelin'?
chat whats the consenus on white authors writing racism?
im reading Truthwitch by Susan Dennard rn and im enjoying it but seeing the racism made me look up dennard to see if she rly has a place to be writing abt that stuff. as far as i can tell shes just american white and while i know anyone can write a character of any race, same with sexuality and gender etc, its coming off weird to me that a white author is writing racism? im white so i dont have much of a say, hence why im asking, but i know i feel 😬 when straight people write homophobia or cis people write transphobia, and dont get me started on cis men writing sexism -_-
im enjoying this book but its just making it a little uncomfortable to read? it was published in 2016 so maybe the vibe was different back then, what do yall think?
I'm rereading Truthwitch, and obviously I would be lying if I said I had forgotten how much I love these books in general and Iseult x Aeduan. But honestly? Reading it again feels like the first time.
They remain one of the best enemies to lovers ships out there.
I just borrowed Truthwitch from the library on a whim and NO SPOILERS in the event that there’s actually a fandom about this book, but I got to the part where there’s a character who is functionally immortal as long as his head doesn’t get cut off, and one of the main female characters just stabbed him in the heart and I’m like “aw this is totally gonna be an enemies to lovers arc” and I’m a little worried for my sanity if that’s where my brain instantly goes
“Oh how did you two meet?”
“Well I was hunting down her friend and then she pushed me out a window and stabbed me in the heart.”
“… oh”
What witchery would you like to have?
waterwitchery!!! Second choice: Tidewitchery. Since I’m not sure I want to be a Paladin and have all those responsibilities. 😅
Day 2: JOMPBPC: TBR This Month
My immediate TBR for May, 2025! 🧡
one of my mates is finally reading the witchlands and I am over here frothing at my mouth desperately trying to stay on the leash as he unintentionally clocks the plot with his "theories"
