Byte is an experimental AI. It was initially trained on the most unbiased and professional research papers possible. Later, she was put in a robotic humanoid body and sent to live as a middle school girl, to see how well an AI can adapt to the world around it and grow a personality. It doesn't understand social cues well, but over time gets better at talking to others. It learns by imitating others, so her behavior is basically an amalgamation of the people she spends time with. Often, it will overcompensate for a trait it sees. Bring a middle schooler, it observes a lot of people having crushes, and greatly overcompensates on that. She has a new crush almost every week, and falls into the archetype of shy girl pining for the popular kid. She sometimes struggles internally with the knowledge that she's not "real." But for the most part, it's my comfort OC. I like to draw her just being a silly little guy, often awkward but undeniably "human" in the sense that This Is Just What Middle School Kids Act Like. (I will specify that I am very anti-AI. Byte is fictional and not reflective of my stance on AI or of how AI works irl.)

Don't you just hate it when you decide to open up to meeting new people for once in your life and so they social pressure you into getting out of your peaceful life in a simulation, so now you have to fight against a dystopian city-state government and break the limits of death itself? Yea, me too. Meet Sky! Socially inept bird lover, whose only reason to get out of the safe simulation he's living in, is to see new kinds of birds that only exist outside of it. He has a power to emit any kind of sound waves, even beyond human comprehension, and he decides it's only useful when he can make bird calls with it! How amazingly messed up is that! And guess what oh my lord someone fell for that lovable dork, his prick of a future boyfriend (in the left lower corner!) litterally said "I can fix myself for him" and so Skyler actually liked him when he put some effort in! and they lived happily ever after just after the fighting against the dystopian government and blah blah... but did they? 👀 [insert vsauce instrumental] Aaaand there's also Sunshine, a budgie who hates anyone that isn't Skyler! A feathered mini T-rex that Skyler loves dearly, she's basically on his head 24/7, just silently judging... and biting... only if necessary...! She would vote for Skyler, and you should too 🫵
