my least favorite filler arc in all 720 episodes of naruto is the one that comes right before the suppression mission because the only thing it does is cover the idea of "the king" and it takes even Longer than the canon arc that is supposed to cover that. consider if instead we took that time to give some substance to the villains that were designed exclusively to be hated, in a retrospective "this is why that just happened" way. you don't have to sympathize, but here's why and how we got to this point. THAT's the world i wanna live in.
