[ エリカ ] ❀ ; A thirst for adventure. It was what usually spurred trainers on to go on their respective journeys, what drove them to explore the furthest corners of the region alongside their partners. Curiosity that occasionally, caused a mishap or two along the way, yet was fueled their desire to learn more of the world around them. Scraps and bruises only served as memories of the adventures made, the sights seen, the obstacles that had been overcome..!
It could be said exactly the same for a young Sunkern, who had remained in the Celadon Gym’s greenhouse even after returning to full health under Erika’s care.
Sunkern was the pioneer of sneaking out of the greenhouse along and going for exciting adventures. Not to say that the Pokemon that remained under the Gym Leader’s care were forced to stay cooped up inside-- it was simply Sunkern’s sense of adventure that lead to its various escapades. It too, enjoyed basking in the sun and the natural environment that bred familiarity of the greenhouse, but..! The city was vibrant, lit up with bright lights in the night, almost seeming alive. It was the exact opposite of the greenhouse, and Sunkern was always excited for the times they left the greenhouse, accompanied by either Erika herself, or one of the Gym trainers.
But one day, it grew impatient. Challengers had been coming one after another, leaving both the Gym trainers and leader busily attending to them, those at the greenhouse left to their own devices. Granted, there had been a single gym trainer watching over them, but what was a single person to do with the Sunkern with the deviousness of a Vulpix? It was not until her duties had been completed that she was told by the gym trainer responsible that Sunkern was missing, to which said Sunkern had already made its escape.
It had not been too long between Erika being done with the challengers and Sunkern’s escape, but it was long enough that the grass type had made its way to the fountain some distance away from the Gym. Long enough that several passersby had responded to the wandering Sunkern with nonchalance ( even though it lacked its usual company of someone from the Gym..! ), as it surveyed the area for anything of interest. Aaand... it found something! Someone that they did not recognize, which was surprising considering its daily excursions around the city. So off it went, toddling over to the stranger as quickly as its little feet allowed it to, before making several chirps in hopes of getting the stranger’s attention.
