@kirkstanbulstrode
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Faceclaim: Aaron Tveit
Height: 6ft.
Weight: Well-built, athletic.
Eye color: Blue.
Skin tone: A sad attempt at an English tan thwarted by long hours inside the Ministry and a refusal to take holidays.
Hair color: Sandy blonde.
Describe hairstyle: Floppy, fluffy, but determinedly professional.
Grooming: Clean but occasionally scruffy when he spends a little too much time at the office (they’d joke about him and Alice having moved in but people are afraid of giving him ideas.)
Distinguishing features: (Freckles, moles, birthmarks, scars etc.)
Tattoos: A traditional-styled colourful swift, on his inner right bicep.
Who do they take after? His father.
Left or right-handed? Left-handed.
How do they dress? For the better part of eleven months of the year Frank manages to maintain a facade of a professional and capable Auror, with a just slightly eclectic taste in outerware and a bright and cheerful palette. Come December 1st, however, all bets are off as the tacky seasonal jumpers come out of the wardrobe.
Any special accessories? If so, why are they special? Frank was gifted with a pair of his father’s cufflinks when he came of age and he treasures them more than almost anything else in the world. He’s never worn a different pair.
Something that they always carry with them: His wedding ring. His wand. The Spirit of Christmas. His Auror’s badge (in the event of impromptu arrests.) The unrelenting long arm of the law.
THE BASICS:
Full name: Frank Christopher Jude Longbottom
Name origin: Frank, German origin. Christopher, Greek/Latin. Jude, Latin. Longbottom, Anglo-Saxon.
Name meaning: Frank, ‘Frenchman or Free man.’ Christopher, ‘bearer of Christ.’ Jude, ‘praised.’ Longbottom, ‘a topographical surname for someone who lived in a long valley or dell’
Nickname: Frankie, Daddy Christmas
Nickname origin: Frankie is almost exclusively used by first his father and now just his Uncle Algie. Daddy Christmas was strictly forbidden from use within Auror Headquarters and has been henceforth used by anyone daring enough to earn the wrath of the Senior Aurors (read: everyone.)
Do they like their nickname?: Frankie holds a sweet kind of nostalgia for Frank, so he indulges it. Daddy Christmas thoroughly delights him.
Age: 23
Birthday: 25 November, 1954
Blood Status: Pureblood
Patronus: Crane. Symbolising everlasting love and youth, the crane is the faithful companion of those who adhere to ideals of grace and balance under pressure. They supposedly bring good fortune and speak to a perseverance of character, manifesting for people with focus, concentration and fidelity.
Boggart: The Dark Mark. A symbol of terror, of death and of a Death Eater victory, of which there have been far too many already, in Frank’s eyes. The very sight of it makes him sick to his stomach and more and more often of late it visits his dreams, the sickly light of it looming over his home or his mother’s home or the order’s latest safe house. It seems that however much he refuses to acknowledge that the Order might just be losing the war, every Dark Mark that is cast in the sky takes them one step closer to Voldemort winning.
Wand Type: Applewood, Dragon Heartstring, 11 1/4 inches, unyielding.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Relationship status: Married.
Allegiance in the war: The Order of the Phoenix.
PHYSICAL APPEARANCE:
Faceclaim: Hale Appleman
Height: 6′2″
Weight: Slim, lanky.
Eye color: Hazel.
Skin tone: Frequently tanned, depending on which corner of the globe he’s recently been.
Hair color: Dark Brown.
Describe hairstyle: Luxuriously coiffed curls in carefully maintained disarray.
Grooming: Gilderoy is fastidious when it comes to his appearance, even the artful dishevelment he’s been rocking during his sabbatical is the kind achieved by many, many adjustments in the mirror.
Distinguishing features: His towering height. The dimple in his chin. A gleaming, perfect smile. A long faded, silver, sickle-shaped scar across his kneecap. A scatter of moles down his right shoulderblade that somewhat resembles the constellation Cassiopeia.
Tattoos: Tattoos are so terribly gauche, are they not?
Who do they take after? Himself. Nobody else is taking the credit for the hard work that went into his creation, thank you.
Left or right-handed? Left.
How do they dress? Expensive. If he had his way he’d be living his life like the Sun King in a nice pastel Rococo daydream, most days he simply settles for a great deal of silk and aggressively chic accoutrements.
Any special accessories? If so, why are they special? Gilderoy isn’t overly sentimental but he is particularly fond of his rings, of which there are many.
Something that they always carry with them: An absurd ostrich feather quill, for autographs. A leather bound travel diary, mostly for appearances. A well-padded ego, impervious to almost any harm.
THE BASICS:
Full name: Gilderoy Lockhart. Nothing else. Never anything else.
Name origin: Gilderoy: Celtic, Gaelic. Lockhart: Scottish, English.
Name meaning: Gilderoy: Often listed as meaning "gilding of the king," but this is false. It's a variant of the Gaelic name Gilroy, and means "son of the red-headed." Lockhart: Scottish: of uncertain origin, probably from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements loc ‘lock’, ‘bolt’ + hard ‘hardy’, ‘brave’, ‘strong’. English: occupational name for a herdsman in charge of a sheep or cattlefold, from Old English loc ‘enclosure’, ‘fold’ + hierde ‘herd(er)’.
Nickname: Gil, Gilly.
Nickname origin: An unfortunate side-effect of Gilderoy having worn people down enough that they refer to him with any affection at all.
Do they like their nickname?: He bears them with great dignity.
Age: 30.
Birthday: 26 January, 1948. Aquarius.
Blood Status: Halfblood.
Patronus: Raccon.
Boggart: A very ordinary, terribly familiar looking man he refers to as ‘Gerald.’
Wand Type: 9″, Cherry, Dragon Heartstring.
Sexuality: Pansexual.
Relationship status: Desperately in love with himself.
Allegiance in the war: Team Neutral.
30 2 Days of Character Development
Day 1: Questions 1-15
the camera brought back the nerves she was so familiar with, the jittery butterflies starting up in her stomach once again as she turned herself down to subdued. the less interesting she was, the less exposure she would be given. it was a balancing act, cute enough to be featured but boring enough to stay out of the spotlight.
