“What a lovely rose!” Daphne exclaimed, thumb brushing over the flower’s crimson petals.
She spied the stranger eyeing the bloom in her hands, and she held it towards them with a beaming smile on her face.
“Would you like it, mon amie?”

“What a lovely rose!” Daphne exclaimed, thumb brushing over the flower’s crimson petals.
She spied the stranger eyeing the bloom in her hands, and she held it towards them with a beaming smile on her face.
“Would you like it, mon amie?”
She felt as if she was floating, body ricocheting through time and space. Once, her life had been simple, filled with lessons and etiquette and Mama brushing back her brunette curls and Papa telling her to be strong. And then in the blink of an eye, everything spiraled into chaos.
Then she was nothing but particles. Atoms and protons and blood cells flickering in and out of existence. It felt like an eternity and a moment all at once.
And then she become flesh and blood again here. But where here was exactly she couldn’t make out.
The world around was so bright, loud, and unfamiliar. Colors flashed before her eyes. People in strange attire bustled down the street. Lights flickered rapidly all around her, vying for the bewildered princess’s attention.
First was the shock, then came the panic. It came in waves, causing her throat to constrict and her breathing to quicken. She needed to find someone, anyone to assist her
“Where am I?” she cried out to the nearest pedestrian as tears flowed freely down her burning cheeks. “Please, can you help me?”
