Emma had been told all about Randy through her closest friend Noah. She had listened to him intently, but had come to meet him with a totally open mind. "That does make sense," she paused, "the final girl energy that is. I'm a survivor of Ghostface attacks, but from the ones Noah Foster mentioned. The ones from Lakewood," she nodded. Emma's voice was soft as she brought up those facts. They weren't the same Ghostface people, but they had somehow had the same moniker.

for a while emma had been listening to music on her spotify while she wrote in her notebook. it was a special notebook she used to write in whenever she felt the need to get her feelings out. one of the few suggestions from therapy she kept up with. as soon as she heard the music stop she checked her phone to notice a new text. emma closed her notebook and pulled her phone out to respond to the text, pausing her music as well.

emma had already found one of her old friends here the other day and now she stood frozen as a familar face popped into her vision. she fell into a state of shock, her mouth slightly agape. there wasn’t much else she could do other than stand there. she didn’t understand how jake could be here, especially if it really was him too.

emma couldn’t believe the voice she’d just heard and the look of shock soon spread across her face. she’d felt so alone here without any of the friends or family from back in lakewood. once she had collected her thoughts and turned around the person had been a couple blocks away. she went into a jog to catch up to them and yelling out to catch their attention, “brooke? please tell me that’s you.”

emma parked her car about a block away from her friend’s home, not having seen an available spot that was closer. once her car was in park she pulled out her phone to send a text that she had arrived and where she had parked. she hoped max would at least tell her where they were going once she got in the car.

emma couldn’t help but feel uneasy as she walked past a halloween store. she knew she couldn’t control if someone else loved those kinds of costumes, but having lived through that horror with a similar mask made her despise it. “i hate these costumes,” she shook her head before turning to walk away from the store.
