francesca had likely been staring mindlessly into the fireplace for far too long when the footman of the estate announced a visitor. perhaps another person wanting to give their well wishes and prayers, she thought to herself. however, only a few seconds passed before they also announced it was her eldest brother. francesca nodded and gently placed her now empty tea cup on its plate. she wiped under her eye before standing up to wait for her brother to enter.

francesca had been so focused and determined to get the piece just right that she'd zoned out from what had been going on around her. after a few more minutes had passed by though, her expression turned joyful. her fingers moved gracefully across the keys as the new tempo finally felt right. she'd finally been able to get it right after a couple revisions and once she hit of the sheet music she sighed. francesca's lips curled into a satisfied grin, quite pleased with herself and all the work she's put into the music. "finally," she softly said to herself.

francesca’s brows furrowed in disgust as she quickly looked down at her phone. she immediately disliked the song and hit the next button. in doing so she hoped to never hear it again. plus she didn’t know why it had even gotten into her playlist. though she does suspect one of her co-workers. she slides her phone back into her pocket before stopping to adjust her earbuds.

"yes, this is francesca and i did receive your e-mail about the lesson needing to be rescheduled. i will take a look at my schedule and get back to you soon with some availabilities. have a good day,” she waited a couple seconds before ending the call. she sighed as the lesson wouldn’t be happening later today like she had hoped. at least now she could go about her day and look forward to the new lesson later. she slipped her phone back into her front pocket.

francesca quickly changed the music in the store to sound a bit more upbeat, but still kept it as instrumental. once that was situated she began to organize the much smaller instruments in the store. thankfully the mom group from earlier hadn’t depleted the store’s stock as she began to put up some new kazoos and harmonicas. she even found herself enjoying the music that played as a smile formed on her face.

“while i would gladly recommend the piano i also say that picking up almost instrument is amazing too,” she smiled. of course the young girl would always be biased and believed the piano to be one of the more superior instruments. but one thing all people that play music share is the ability to read it. “oh, sorry. did i assume wrong that you’ve never played a musical instrument before?”

“yeah, that will likely go over well,” she spoke under breath, a sarcastic undertone. of course francesca hadn’t intended on overhearing the conversation, but the other two strangers hadn’t been that quiet either. as they continued to speak of the subject she couldn’t help but let out a soft giggle. francesca tried to keep herself busy by tapping her fingers, not wanting the other two strangers to know she heard them.

“excuse me, but are you perhaps the owner of this lost item?” she held it up in her hand. it had an engraving, but that was hidden by the palm of her hand. she’d asked about five other people and she hoped that this sixth one could be her lucky break. “there is an engraving on it too.”
