"Is there ever a point where one becomes immune to caffeine?" Xichen asks. He's pretty sure he reached it but can't tell quite yet; His body automatically goes to sleep or at least relaxes by 9:00pm so he's not sure if it's just his body doing its thing or what.

River hadn't seen his twin brother, Riley, since before Riley went missing in Seattle. The two had been attending college together, when it happened -- and unfortunately no leads came about. River feared that people had all but forgotten about his brother, with the exception of his parents and their sister. But now, now his brother was right in front of him, and he was... shocked, to say the least. "Riley?"

"dad?" marley nearly whispered it, her voice shaking as she saw her father for the first time since the attack.. yet another family member here who was walking into a damn warzone. they had never healed from the attack, and marley didn't know how to break that news to their family.

"do you want a drink?" chloe asks as she makes her way to the fridge. "i mean, i've got all the sodas. the healthy ones, the not-so-healthy ones. there's kombucha." she turns back, and gestures to the alcohol. "or if you want something a little stronger, i've got that too."

violet didn't think anything was amiss per see, but she still felt like she was missing something. maybe it was the dead end job that she hated, but she always knew that she would be doing something before going on to do what she would love. otherwise, nothing really was missing. she was waiting for her coffee order and turned to grab it when she bumped into somebody, "i am so sorry." her face flushed with red, coloring her cheeks with embarrassment. "i can be the most oblivious person sometimes."
