2020 Goals Update #57: February 26th
Stopped at what amounts to a “scratch and dent” store and got some great toiletries for cheap
Went to the library to return some books, and I picked up new ones outside of my original list, oops!
Read The House of Hades for 3h 9m 35s and read 289 pages, finishing the book
Organized all of my library books by due dates so I would have the best idea of what to read next
Read Daisy Jones and the Six for 1h 5m 5s and got 99 pages into it
Wrote a little less than half a page in my journal
Today was once again not a gym day like I expected. I got up at 7 AM, but I got up to my mom having an emotional breakdown. She has become so overwhelmed with school and feels that all the joy is out of her life. We talked for a bit, and she decided to take a step back from school and relax. She asking for an incomplete where she can and for those that she can’t; she said she will still do the schoolwork, but she won’t make herself sick over it anymore. She said if she doesn’t get an “A” because of that, so be it. After that, she said she didn’t want to cry again at the gym and would like to just relax. We went out and did our errands and then went to the library to get her a few books. So, my mom seems to like memoirs a lot, but is also drawn to fiction or other nonfiction about civil rights and about oppressed people rising up or fighting against their oppressors or lot in life. Does anyone have recommendations for books like that? She didn’t like the books she got, so she worked on the schoolwork for the class she likes and will have a full reading day tomorrow, after the gym.
I pawned my PS4 because it was pulling too much of my focus. I know there is nothing wrong with playing games all day, but it doesn’t work for me. It makes me feel bad about myself and until I can get past that, I would rather not have it. I’m always able to get it back out later. I came home and read until supper and then I spent the rest of the evening reading. I enjoyed myself. I’ve missed doing that.
Tomorrow will be a gym day! I AM GOING NO MATTER WHAT. And then I will come home and read. I will probably finish Daisy Jones and the Six and then move onto ’Tis, my nonfiction read for the month. I only have three days left to get that read!
Hmmm that’s new
