Generally speaking, asking for help makes Olivia feel very off -- she likes doing things by herself; feeling independent. On the other hand, awkward silences can also grind her nerves in the worst of ways and send her spiraling into anxiousness. And in a more physical sense, she hates it when people touch her back and try to lead her somewhere. She doesn’t need leading, she knows exactly where she’s going. Most times.

Children, mostly, especially when they’re in close proximity. Olivia can’t control how triggering they get nor does she know when her mind will start playing tricks on her. She’s cold towards them because she does’t want to hurt them, not because she dislikes them. It’s a big irony, really, that her biggest passion is now the thing that haunts her the most.

(´ q ` ” ) = the character’s “guilty” pleasure?

Children’s songs. Quite a silly thing to enjoy but spending so much time in the company of tiny people has that effect. As for which songs she enjoyed -- past tense since Olivia can no longer enjoy them --, she had no favorites. Clapping along and making exaggerated, animal shaped dance moves was one of her favorite things.

Back in the old world, there were many things that could get Olivia into fits of giggles. Most notably: children’s shenanigans. After the outbreak, however, that changed. She isn’t incapable of laughter or smiling, in fact some people can still conjure that from her, but the chuckles are less lively, less vibrant. Silly jokes or comical situations usually do the trick, though.

(・∀・ ) = the character’s emotional state most of the time.

Anger is a prominent feeling -- at the world, at herself. The bubbling rage is probably why she’s so quick to snap (quicker than before, anyways) and won’t hesitate to fight back. Another gut wrenching feeling has been living inside her, too, though -- guilt. The combination of both leaves Olivia in a state of mind that is clearly fragile and dwindling, and with the hurtful fits of panic whenever the hallucinations of her first kill start replaying in her ears the guilt and anger are only getting worse.

( ⌒o⌒)人(⌒-⌒ ) = friends the character has or would like to make.

Olivia was once a social butterfly. Smiles and good times came in and out of her life by the dozen and, sometimes, she took those people and moments for granted. After the world fell, she lost it all and with the death of her passion, her work, the ease and warmth in communicating perished, too. 

There are times, however, when the woman wills herself to shape back up into the person she once was – times when a sparkling light comes shinning through. It is thanks to these moments that she has been able to make a few pleasant acquaintances. Olivia doesn’t dare call them friends, not yet, but perhaps, in time, they could be.

There is something beautiful about softness, about sweetness, and that is likely the  biggest reason as to why Kylie comes to mind when she thinks of pleasant individuals. Gwen and Alexi didn’t hesitate to help her out when they found her in trouble, and that in itself feels like a valid enough reason to like them. As for Ritvik, the man made for some pleasant conversation and Olivia lacks that on most days. Ace and her may have started off on the wrong foot, but he was able to steer her away from arguing and engage in actual conversation – admirable. And lastly, Nick may have been half dead when she found him, and upon waking up he didn’t hesitate to believe the words she said and Olivia appreciates that.
