12. The emotional hug
“Wasabi?”
She was greeted by static once again, eachfailed attempt to contact him setting the panicdeeper into her skin. Baymax’s scanner had been damaged in the chaos and it appears as if Wasabi’s headset had too.
There was still a chance though. It had only beena few minute since the building’s collapse. He could still get out. He could be okay. He had plasmablades after all. -- But, as the minutes droned byand there was still no sign of him, dread had made it’s way to the bottom of Gogo’s stomach. But she stillpaced at the mouth of the ruins, eyes glued to the rubblefor any sign of movement, any sound.
But there was nothing.
And just as she had began to turn, she spotted something green out of the corner of her eye and almost immediately a wave of relief washed over her. His armor was dented and parts of the paints had chipped off all together, but he was alive as he stumbled through the wreckage.
Leiko never thought she had moved so as she made her way over to him. She never thought she would cryat the sight of him. She knew he spotted her tears but before she even gave him the chance of saying anything her arms were wrapping firmly around him almost as if she was afraid he would slip away from her if she didn’t hold onto him as tightly as possible. For once, she wasquiet as she stayed there in his arms, the silence onlybroken as she quietly mumbled;
“Don’t you ever scare me like that again, you moron.”
