She must have dozed off; one moment, the fox had been conversing with her fellow apprentice, chatting about nonsensical things, about this & that after a vigorous training session in the square. The next, lids heavier than she remembered were struggling to open. Lifting admist the weariness that had settled deep within her bones, roused to due to a pressure; light, gentle, upon the top of her head. Brows furrowed ever so, her head raised in its confusion, shifting ‘pon that of his shoulder where it’d fallen some time ago, to see just what it was that had stirred her. When had she… Was that a kiss she’d felt?
Her heart, it swelled with warmth. Such an affectionate act causing eyes to crinkle, & a smile to spread across fair lips. Causing a surge of emotions that spurred Ava to rewind her arms ‘round the one of his she’d already been slumped against, as her head, it was laid to rest once more. Soul content to drift once again, lulled by the wisps of the warm summer breeze upon her cheek, the rhythmic melody of the fountain behind them, but, most importantly, the all encompassing comfort of snuggling alongside someone you held dear.
If he was okay with it, then so was she okay with relaxing a little while longer…
