“tell me where you are.”
@painsrequiem
Anima kept quiet, a cheeky smile spreading over her lips. It wasn’t often she played hide and seek with her son, but it was one of the few times she allowed herself to be a little more childish. She loved the days she was able to play with her son, to tickle him, to tell him stories, to listen to him laugh. It felt like change was in the air and there had been whispers and side eyes to the both of them recently. When she had questioned Jyscal about it, he had told her not to worry and it was nothing she needed to concern herself over.
This was not the time to be thinking about such things. She heard the padding of Seymour’s feet across the carpet and kept as still as she possibly could. She minimised her breathing so it didn’t feel like she was breathing so loudly. When Seymour padded past, thankfully missing Anima hiding in the shadows, Anima relaxed slightly. When he was past her, enough for her to slip out, Anima dropped the facade of trying to hide behind something.
Her own strides were longer than Seymour’s so she caught up to him with ease. There was strength in her arms still as she strode up behind him and scooped him up into her arms. “I’m here, my son.” There was a loving grin plastered across her face as she pressed a multitude of kisses across her son’s face. It ruined the game of hide and seek, but while she still had the strength to pick him up, Anima would do it every chance she got. His giggles and his pleading for her to stop causing she was tickling him warmed her heart.
“You mean you wish to surrender to me? Very well, I accept.”
d’Artagnan snorted in response to Athos’s taunting, hoping to appear marginally less winded then he felt after suffering from the other Musketeers [slightly] superior swordsmanship. He gathered himself back into a guard stance and pointed his rapier in a challenging motion at his opponent.
“I don’t surrender to anyone.”
d’Artagnan knew, however, that despite his own taunts the afternoon’s training had been long and his own attacks had become less uniform as it wore on, leaving him easy prey. Not that he’d ever reveal that to Athos. No, instead he’d continue on until either was defeated, there never really was any honour in surrendering, even if it was just training.

“I had a conversation about the weather with a racoon this morning, over breakfast and you´re still the weirdest thing that happened to me today.” It´s been a few days since she´d met the Guardians of the Galaxy and she was still getting used to them. They were truly a special bunch. “What is this?” With a frown, she pointed towards Starlord´s belt. “What is this? A Walkman? Technology moved forward, you know? Does the iPod ring any bell?”

She leaned back in her seat, wondering why her mentor and something like a mother organized her a driver to take her to her destination. It wasn´t like she didn´t have her own car. Or like she didn´t know the way. She had a suspicion, why she was in the backseat of Jacob´s car. Lorna wanted to keep an eye on her and have more control over her. A small sigh left her lips and she crossed her arms. She was bored and if she was in her own car right now, she´d listen to her music and sing from the top of her lungs. She didn´t want to do that to this Jacob stranger whose last name was unknown. And you couldn´t really sing to Classical music. After a while she looked into the rearview mirror and at the driver, not being able to endure her boredom any longer. “So, do you do smalltalk, Jacob?”

“You know, Bond”, the blonde started as she closed her trunk after handing over the stuff to him that he needed for whatever mission he had, “M would kick my arse if she´d know what I´m doin´.” She didn´t know the details, she just knew that he was supposed to be off duty. “But whenever you need something, just call, alright?” She turned around to get into the car and drive off, but she stopped and faced him again. “I can do more than getting guns. Let me help.”

It´s been a long week for the blonde spy and sometimes all she needed to calm down was doing something normal. Something that had nothing to do with her work, sometimes she just needed to be Casey. She usually ate at home, ordering Chinese or Italian, but today she´d decided to visit a diner called Stanley´s Diner. It wasn´t far from her apartment and it looked like a place where she´d feel comfortable and where she could relax. It was pretty late and she was the only one here except for two other guests. Which wasn´t unwelcome to her. Her face was a little bruised and she didn´t need looks and stares from others. It didn´t take long for a young, brunette waitress to step in front of her and Casey offered her a small smile. “What can you offer someone who´s had a long week?”
