The smell of ink and paper was rather calming to Leopold — soothing, in contrast with how the other's scent seemed to so easily bait him. The combination was so intriguing, interesting, he even thought that one first time that maybe, just maybe, it could be some new, clever trap from hunters.

Only for that never to turn true... besides, he would have already noticed some other person, had someone been around with the stupid idea of trying to end him. A centuries-old vampire was no easy target, after all.

The vampire hummed quietly, his pale features barely apparent under the lack of a proper source of light. And that's when the taunting, interested question came:

"Afraid of being replaced.... or disposed of, my dear?" he asked, sounding a bit too amused.

what a nice day out, he thought. it wasn't often he was allowed to wander while going on errands outside of the nine, so he made the most of this day by avoiding what he had been sent out to do until the very last minute. he rushed out of the bar, the alcohol arguing against the sudden movement but he pushed past it. he could throw up later, but if he returned home without completing his task, the taste of alcohol returning from inside out would be the least of his worries.
