It was a shitty day. Well more like a shitty morning. It wasn't even noon yet and Cooper just wanted this day to be over. No, he more so wanted this week to be over. This case was killing him and Meg was driving him up a wall and he had no idea what the hell to do with her. She was his sister though and he couldn't give up on her. Cooper's mind was all over the place but being called to a scene at five in the morning wasn't his favorite thing. Well it was but not when he didn't have his coffee. Cooper needed it, he needed coffee so badly. Once he arrived to the scene it was a madhouse, thankfully it was outside so it was a little bit more organized but Cooper took a deep breath. He wasn't sure what was in store for him today. Cooper was hoping this case would go smoothly but that was rare for the male and rare for the Homicide unit. Sometimes it took a few days or a week. Cooper hoped to God that it didn't take a week this time, he needed a brake. A brake from all the madness that was happening right now. He loved is job, truly, he loved being a Detective but sometimes Cooper needed a brake from it. Standing in front of the yellow tape, Cooper looked down at the victim and shook his head. This was going to be a rough one he could tell. Swallowing hard the wind hit his face and Cooper looked up for a moment. His heart dropped into his stomach.
This wasn't right. What was she doing here? Was it really her? Nora couldn't be here. Cooper didn't need this. He did not need this. He could feel his color drain from his face and when his partner asked if he was okay the male just shook it off. Cooper wasn't okay. It felt like he had just seen a ghost and the man swallowed hard again. Cooper stood there for a moment. His feet were glued to the ground, he couldn't move. Feeling sick, Cooper walked up to her. He was about to open his mouth and say something but then his Sargent did it for him. Taking a few moments to collect his thoughts, Cooper looked at her again and shook his head "Excuse me, Detective Freeman is it?" He was being an asshole. Of course he was. He needed to be. It was the only way that Cooper knew how to cope with this. Cope with the fact that this might be real. "You can't be here right now. This is for Homicide. Not sure why they called you in."
