Énouement: The bittersweetness of having arrived in the future, seeing how things turn out, but not being able to tell your past self.

It was a particularly nice day despite winter’s chill, the sun hung high and shone bright. Lilina wouldn’t normally spend a day, as nice as this one is, outside with the temperature dropped even with the thicker cloak she wore. The cold sinks into her skin once she steps outside and she wraps herself tighter, eager to head somewhere warmer when she passes by the fishing dock.
That green hair, the ornaments she wore in her hair, there was no mistaking it. A painting of what once was hung in the halls back home. Lord Eliwood she knew well, but the green haired lady she only has tales and approximate depictions to go off of. Lyn, as she recalls her father telling her, a brave and headstrong woman. She wonders what happened between the three of them, it sounded like they were a wonderful trio, but even those dreams may shatter too. She shudders to think of Bern’s invasion and the effects after the war.
There were a couple of Sacaens in the army. She only had the opportunity to speak to them a handful of times. Often not many words were exchanged in those conversations, but they seemed to have a distant, sad look in their eyes. Destruction of their home, massacre of their people, a seemingly hopeless outcome, and yet they persevere. Lilina stares at her for a moment, considering. You are braver than most. The rebuilding is slow, but going well from what I hear. There are at least a few remaining tribes left and they— All terrible.
“Hello,” Lilina leads with instead. She would never have the heart or the strength to tell her, but perhaps she could listen to stories of what once was. If not, then the simple pleasure of sitting in quiet tranquility would be enough while they both still could. “May I sit here?” She points to the spot next to Lyn with a soft smile.
