Every day I am haunted by the thought of what Sonic Heroes’ original plot could have possibly been if Metal Sonic was supposed to be on a team with Mighty and Ray. Obviously they were just spitballing characters before the actual plot but I have sO MANY QUESTIONS

You could go in such interesting directions with it.

Metal trying to be a hero but Mighty and Ray have to rein him in.

The classic ‘i’m turning over a new leaf PSYCHE SUCKERS’ (with bonus: ‘did none of it mean anything’/Becoming The Mask)

What even would it take for Mighty to trust Metal? Even before Mania, their encounter in Knuckles Chaotix wasn’t exactly roses. Maybe Ray convinces him to go along with it. Ray seems like the kind of guy who would (hesitantly) trust a killer robot to try to be a good guy.

Race run!

It turned out it wasn't actually a 5k - it seems for some reason, they had to change the route a bit, so it was actually more like 3.6k (and the 10k was 7k, I think?). But who cares, it was a fun race 😃!

I kept it fairly easy, walked a bit up the hills and enjoyed the scenery running through the Schlossgarten. The last ~1k was a bit of a struggle up the hill but the race helpers cheering us on helped. I also loved that they greeted us with our bib number and time at the goal!

I don't think I'll hang around for the awards ceremony because I have earned a meal at my favourite cafe now, don't you think 😉?
