they walk over to one of the drawers in the room and open it, finding a few gold coins inside. They put the coins in their satchel for safekeeping.

“So Mallory, how long have you been here for? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to, I know it can be a bit of a touchy subject but I was just wondering.”

For so unexpected an arrival to come about in the middle of a café courtyard, Karen had least expected Jonathan, of all people, to see her idly strumming away at her guitar. The yelp that  soon shot out of her quickly blossomed into a chuckle once she managed to recognize his face. 

“Aaah, ohayou. Quite nice to see you here at a time like this, Johnny, but... yeah, it’s to be expected. Ani-kun’s usually a rather diligent guy; he occasionally attends to paperwork with his advisor every morning, along with some breakfast after roll call. Not that his ranks mind, but it just helps him get through ceasefire days in a comfortable way, not much else.”

With an idle stretch of her prosthetic shoulders and a brisk yawn to boot, the Heavy Marksman directed her eyes to the Engineer, nodding towards him before placing the guitar into a nearby case on the cobbled floor below.

“We’ll be able to see him sometime this afternoon at the outpost, once things begin to settle down a bit. Sounds like a good way to end off a few months’ worth of waiting, eh?”@redgentleengie​
