Day 330
The Allegretti 250 S is a unique junior car created in 1985 by renowned Italian coachbuilder Mario Allegretti. Inspired by the Ferrari racing prototypes of the 1960s, it is more than just a toy, but a complex engineering feat in miniature.
This car was built in a single copy and was extremely expensive for its time – 30 million lire (5 million more than other Allegretti models), which is comparable to the cost of a new luxury Lancia Thema sedan at the time.
Mario Allegretti was one of Modena's most experienced craftsmen. From the 1950s, he worked at Carrozzeria Fantuzzi, then in Maserati's racing department (participating in the coachbuilding of the legendary 250F), and later founded his own studio. His name is also widely known for high-quality replicas and coachwork for the full-size Ferrari 250 GTO and SWB.e time.
