“ you trust me, don't you? “
@bluerage
"Dabi..." Trust was a funny thing (even more so when it fell on the topic of what she felt around the villain.) To a certain extent, of course she trusted him -- he'd proven himself to be a bit more human than she'd originally expected him to be, considering his history of crimes and the death toll that still had yet to cease climbing because of his quirk.
Although, that didn't mean she could immediately extend that trust to things outside of when they were alone together. All the signs pointed to him; every detail of the scenes surrounding the newest murder victims including scorch marks on the pavement. Could she really say she knew he was innocent this time?
Ryuko closed her eyes, tightening her hand around his, and stepped forward to close the gap between them. If she was going to give him the benefit of the doubt, it could have potentially been the one instance that brought their little relationship crumbling down around them. If he'd been lying... that would have been it.
She couldn't take that big of a risk without fully acknowledging what was at stake. Blue eyes pleaded as they sought out that burning turquoise gaze again. If he had her believing a lie, she wouldn't have been able to forgive him (or herself) after the truth had been let out into the open and proven her wrong.
"Swear to me," she said, placing her free hand over his heart. "Please... Look me in the eyes, and tell me that. wasn't. you... and I'll believe you."
