Boundaries
Jesus and Chad had hooked up a handful of times at this point, Jesus more liberal with his use of Chad’s phone number since he’d bumped into the other while buying drugs. He tried not to pry too much into Chad’s life, just enjoyed the other man’s presence- the sex, obviously- and coaxed him into healthier habits where he thought he could without being too obvious.
Since the toxic mist had descended on Underland their meetings had stopped- Jesus respected Alex enough not to bring a booty call into his house, especially since Alex had become a booty call for a brief time- but Jesus had checked in, and learned that Chad was an EMT tech, which only ratcheted up his general anxiety over the other’s health. Jesus wanted to see how he was doing, though. Also, they needed to discuss the nature of their relationship in a way neither had bothered to before, because there wasn’t a need. Now that Jesus and Tyler had explicitly stated their intentions towards each other, Jesus was going to have to start cutting certain ties as delicately as possible.
For lack of anywhere else for them to go, Jesus had invited Chad over to Alex’s while he knew most of the house was otherwise occupied, and lounged beneath one of the garden cabanas with Flower at his feet and chocolate cake- leftovers from Javi’s birthday- on the table next to him. When he caught sight of Chad he rose, unable to keep a grin off his face.
“Extrañé la vista de mi ángel,” he purred, speaking Spanish specifically because he knew the other didn’t know it. “How you been? Good to see you breathing.”
